Deputies arrested a Polk City, Florida woman for DUI on a horse in Lakeland on Thursday. Donna Byrne, 53, was riding the horse in the roadway when deputies arrived on scene. Deputies said Byrne smelled like alcohol, had watery bloodshot eyes and was staggering. A field sobriety test was conducted and she was arrested for DUI. Byrne was also charged with animal neglect for failing to provide proper protection to the horse. According to the affidavit, Byrne put the horse in jeopardy of being injured or killed.Byrne blew a .157 and .161 BAC. A breath alcohol level of .08 is the legal limit in Florida. 633

DENVER, Colo. - Air traffic in and out of Denver International Airport was impacted Tuesday afternoon following COVID-19-related cleaning procedures at an FAA facility on airport grounds, a DIA spokesperson confirmed to Denver7.DIA said they were in a ground stop for only a few minutes around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The airport was on a ground delay or traffic management up until 6 p.m., delaying inbound traffic.The stop happened due to COVID-19-related cleaning in an FAA facility on airport property after an FAA employee tested positive for the virus. Air controllers were moved into a backup room to clean the main room. Officials said the cleaning did not happen at the airport terminals or at the control tower.A DIA spokesperson estimated that nearly 200 planes were delayed and 45 were canceled during the transition.Denver7 spoke with a mother who says her son was pulled off his plane and told there would be a delay due to weather.“We all understand what happens with COVID and the shutdowns and everything, but it’s less scary knowing that’s what it was as opposed to trying to figure out, well why is the shutting down the airport and not telling us why?" said Kelly Suchey.She says DIA AND the FAA should have been more transparent about what was going on.So Far, four FAA employees have tested positive for COVID-19.This story was first reported by Robert Garrison KMGH in Denver, Colorado. 1412

DEL MAR, San Diego (KGTV)— Dozens of people gathered in front of the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday to protest a popular gun show.The weekend after yet another mass school shooting in Santa Fe Texas, the Del Mar Fairgrounds is hosting the Crossroads of the West Gun show. The show has been in Del Mar for many years.While show-goers drove into the parking lot, protestors yelled into the megaphone, “Stop the bloodshed. Close the Gunshow!”Del Mar Mayor, Dwight Worden joined protestors. “Why are we doing this when the community doesn’t want it?“ he asked. Worden has been credited for updating local zoning ordinances, which now ban gun shops, gun shows, or firing weapons in the city of Del Mar.But despite the name, the Del Mar Fairgrounds is owned by the state, so city zoning rules do not apply.It is governed by a Fair Board, which chooses what events they host a year in advance.“Were doing is this kind of demonstration of community concern and we’re working with the Fair Board and state legislature to see if we can change the rules and if not eliminate the gunshots, at least cut back the number,” Mayor Worden said. 10News was filming the protest, when an unrelated cyclist found an in-tact bullet being run over by cars on Via De La Valle.“It’s not a war zone. DENVER – Colorado blazed trails when it legalized pot and now Denver could lead the way decriminalizing magic mushrooms.The group Denver for Psilocybin may soon have the all-clear to start gathering signatures so you can vote on it this fall.Gathering at the steps of the Denver City and County building on Wednesday, the group — chanting at times, "free the spores!" — met with city leaders about their push to decriminalize psilocybin, also known as magic mushrooms.Tyler Williams, one of the leaders of Denver for Psilocybin, spoke to Scripps station KMGH in Denver about their reasoning behind the push."There's a lot of research for all sorts of mental health issues. Everything from anxiety to depression to cluster headaches, addiction," said Williams.But he said he doesn't need the research to prove his claims. He credits their use saved his life a few years ago. "I had a suicide attempt November 12th of 2015 and I think it helped me get out of my depression, and it's helped me with my PTSD," Williams said.He's not alone. There are a growing number of people turning to psilocybin.Licensed professional counselor Kathy Hawkins treats a few number of people, not during their use, but only before and after."So, I’m a place where they can come and talk about it.
