LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A local city councilman is making a desperate plea for tips tonight after his wife was attacked outside their home. It happened just off Palm Street after 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A disturbing picture of the incident was painted in a Facebook post by Lemon Grove City Councilman David Arambula. He writes that his wife was "brutally attacked' while going to the trash can. He adds that the attacker, "opened our gate, then hit her over the hit her over the head with a block of wood. This was completely unprovoked and unexpected."One neighbor described her as traumatized, conscious and suffering a head wound. Deputies say the 38-year-old woman escaped into her home, while the man ran off. The motive remains a big mystery. Neighbors say they've had issues with people wandering the area, high on something."There is a sober living facility a few blocks away. We've had a few incidents of people in their own zone, yelling and screaming - but nothing violent," said neighbor Tim Bossard.Arambula posted on Facebook that his wife is "getting better."The attacker is described as a black man about 30 years old, 5'9", and 175 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, dark denim shorts, high socks, white shoes, sunglasses and a blue hat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man was arrested on battery and hate crime charges Thursday after he punched a man who recently arrived from Afghanistan and threatened to kill his family.San Diego Police said Robert Compton, 48, was on a trolley in the Grantville area on Feb. 26 just before 12 p.m., when he approached a family of four who recently moved to San Diego from Afghanistan. The family was being given a tour from a Catholic charity helping them during their transition to the area.Police say Compton told the 41-year-old father and threatened to kill the family. At the corner of Peabody Drive and Hardy Cash Drive in Hampton, Virginia you'll find a group of determined kids."We are raising money for single mothers that are struggling. They have to do so much on their own," said 11-year-old Cartier Carey.Cartier is the leader of the "Carti Pack" and CEO of his lemonade stand, one unlike any other."We sell lemonade, chips, candy - all types of stuff that people want, and it's not expensive," he said.Each dollar spent towards a cup of the summertime drink and goodies on the side goes towards buying diapers for local families in need."The diapers are for mothers or anyone that has babies," Cartier said.It's an unusual business model, but one that's working."There's a shortage of Pampers and wipes in the stores because of the pandemic, so this couldn't have come at a better time," said Anthony Carey, Cartier's dad.A rising sixth-grader like Cartier and his friends could be out playing sports or riding bikes, but instead, they're helping single mothers in the community."There are a lot of grown-ups out there not doing what we're doing," Cartier said."As a parent, it makes me feel spectacular," Anthony said.This lemonade stand isn't a first for Cartier.
