SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are investigating reports of a person being shot in the Mount Hope area Friday.San Diego Police said they were investigating reports that a 27-year-old Hispanic man showed up to Scripps Mercy Hospital with gunshot wounds just before 2 p.m. The man was rushed into surgery for life-threatening injuries.Soon after, police responded to the scene of 41st and C streets to investigate the location of the reported shooting.SDPD said based on the evidence gathered, the victim was in an altercation with man when gunshots rang out. The suspect they are searching for is a Hispanic male adult, approximately 29-30 years old who fled the area in a green pickup truck. He was last seen wearing a blue and yellow hat and a green jersey.The vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound on 41st St.SDPD Gang Detectives are investigating the shooting. Winds will pick up on Tuesday. Then, the surf will increase along the coast before the Thanksgiving storm arrives.The atmospheric river will potentially set up the stage for heavy rain, flash flooding, and thunderstorms during the major winter storm. Rainfall totals could average from 3-5 inches for the coast and valleys and 4-8 inches in the mountains. Snow levels will start out high around 8,000 feet. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body in the water off Mission Beach.Lifeguards discovered the body about two and a half miles off the shoreline about 11 a.m., officials said. They had been drawn to the area by a fisherman who saw a flock of seagulls in the water and went to investigate.When they found the body, the man was only wearing only board shorts and was found with a chain around his waist.San Diego Police Homicide Lt. Anthony Dupree described the chain as a "half-inch linked chain. It almost looks like someone may wear it as a belt."Lt. Dupree also said there were no obvious signs of trauma or evidence that the body had been weighed down with anything, but the chain was concerning.The man's identity was not immediately released. The proposal would make it easier for houses of worship and fitness centers, impacted by the pandemic, to utilize county parks. The proposal aims to speed up the permit process and waive fees.Public health orders have hindered the operations of many houses of worship and fitness centers after they were forced to close their indoor areas.
