SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Windmill Farms Community Market in Del Cerro is asking for the public's help locating their stolen trailer.The family-owned grocery store has been serving San Diego since 2003 with a mission to provide healthy, organic foods at affordable prices. Surveillance video from the early morning hours on Sunday captures a white SUV with black rims circling the market. At around 4:30 a.m. the SUV hauls off the trailer. “Just unbelievable," said Michael Villegas, produce manager and buyer. “That trailer was a big part of our business; everything we had for our events was in that trailer."Villegas is also in charge of the store's community events, like bringing food to the Lake Murray 4th of July Fireworks and bringing fresh produce to schools. “Schools depend on us to do the events, if we have to start over it’s going to be tough," said Villegas.The trailer held all their tents, tarps, tables, and BBQ's.Villegas estimates the loss at around ,000. “I just hope we can get it back, you know, that would be awesome if we could get it back, if anybody seen anything give us a call," said Villegas. "The president gave congress six months to come up with a permanent fix for this DACA crisis, and it didn’t happen. So we want to make sure we’re in D.C. when March 5 comes.”“Absolutely, yes I’m nervous," Francisco Peralta said. "This is the first time actually being in D.C. ever and also it’s the first time that I’m going to be sitting in a room where, you know, with members of congress.”Ali Torabi will also be going. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two puppies soon to be up for adoption in San Diego are already capturing hearts around the world.Two 3-month-old terrier-blends, named Star and Denver, were taken to Helen Woodward Animal Center on Feb. 11 after their mother had been dumped in a rural location in Louisiana. They were taken by van about 1,900 miles through a partnership with the rescue group Heart of Louisiana.Once in San Diego, it wasn't long before staff learned about Star's unique challenges and special bond with her brother. Star is blind and deaf and Denver had taken on the role of guide dog for his sister.RELATED: Assemblyman Todd Gloria announces bill to end puppy mills in California"While the rest of [Star's] littermates frolicked without her, her brother Denver kept a protective eye on her," the animal center wrote. "Choosing Star as his main playmate, the two were rarely apart and when separated, Denver would come running back to love on Star and let her know he was there."The pair's heartwarming story has made its way across the world, according to the animal center. The company is thanking its riders who span across more than 120 cities, 30 countries, and five continents.A San Diego chef is one of those riders; in fact, he too reached a personal milestone. "My name is Justin Vaiciunas, and I am San Diego's #1 Lime rider!"A Lime representative called Vaiciunas last week to tell him about the accomplishment; Vaiciunas clocked in nearly 600 rides this year."I live right over off of Pacific Highway, and I scooter from there to work every day and back, and then also all around; even to Balboa Park, North Park, everywhere I can," said Vaiciunas. Vaiciunas likes how accessible and easy the scooters make it getting around downtown. He now uses them for 80 percent of his commutes. "I used to spend about in gas a week; now I maybe spend that a month."The company says with the growth they've increased education outreach as well as efforts to be good stewards in the cities they serve.
