SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego State University will begin testing all students who live on campus for COVID-19, the school said Tuesday.According to the university, the testing will start on September 16. After the initial phase of testing, the school will begin testing students at random. “Following the initial phase of benchmark testing for all students in residence this week, we will then launch random testing for the on-campus housing population. During each round of testing, a set of individuals from each residential community group will be randomly sampled to be re-tested,” the school said.The news comes as 648 students tested positive or presumptive positive for the virus.According to SDSU, 644 students have so far tested positive for the virus. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SeaWorld San Diego is closed Thursday as a storm moves through the county. The theme park made the announcement Wednesday night after the first round of rain battered the area. Officials with SeaWorld say they plan to reopen the park Friday, Dec. 7. The park closed last Thursday, November 29 also due to the rain. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Six people inside a minivan that drove down a flooded road near Fashion Valley mall were rescued Friday, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue official. Avenida del Rio, a popular exit route for the mall south of Friars Road, was closed Thursday and Friday due to rising water levels in the San Diego River. A lifeguard river rescue crew was nearby, along with fire trucks.
