The 2019 Consumer Electronics Show is happening now in Las Vegas and one of the products featured at the conference is all the talk on social media. Do you hate folding laundry? Do you hate folding laundry so much that you would pay up to ,000 just to have a giant robot do it for you? There's a laundry-folding robot that might actually be available to purchase by the end of 2019 and it was premiered at the Consumer Electronics Show this week. FoldiMate, the company who created the product, also the name of the robot, has been a big name at the conference for the past few years, promising to change the folding game. Well, this year, they actually debuted a fully functioning prototype of the concept. FoldiMate, based in Israel, says the laundry-helping robot "will fold most types of shirts, blouses, or pants from age 6 to adult size XXL. It will also fold standard size towels and pillowcases." They say it's family friendly and anyone in the family can help fold laundry. It can help you keep your closet and dressers organized, keeping piles of messy laundry from accumulating in your home. Though it can fold lots of clothes, according to the company, it'll still be up to you to figure out how to fold that ridiculous fitted sheet because FoldiMate can't help you there. The good news? They claim you can get your laundry folding done in under five minutes because it only takes a few seconds to fold one item. The company is hoping to launch the product in "late 2019" and you can add your name to the waitlist on 1543
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals provided tips on Tuesday on how to keep animals safe and healthy as the country deals with the spread of coronavirus. Here are the tips provided by ASPCA: Wash Your HandsAlthough there is no current evidence that suggests the coronavirus can be transmitted to or from companion animals, it's always a good idea to follow basic hygiene practices around animals. This includes washing your hands thoroughly throughout the day and before and after direct contact with your pets, their food or their supplies.Play it SafeWhile there have not been any reports of companion animals becoming sick from the virus, it is still recommended that people who are sick with COVID-19 limit contact with companion animals until more information is available. If you are sick or under medical attention for COVID-19, you should avoid close contact with your pets and have another member of your household care for your animals. If you must look after your pet, you should maintain good hygiene practices and wear a face mask, if possible.Stock Up on Pet SuppliesPrepare a kit with essential supplies to have on hand in the event of an emergency. Your emergency kit should include a 30-day supply of your pets' medications, as well as at least two weeks' worth of food and other supplies, like litter. Make sure all pets wear collars and tags with up-to-date identification information. Your pet's ID tag should contain his name, telephone number and any urgent medical needs. Be sure to also write your pet's name, your name and contact information on your pet's carrier.Designate an Emergency CaregiverProactively identify someone who could help with their short- or long-term care in the event you are unable to care for your pets. Consider a family member, friend, neighbor or a boarding facility.Create a Pet DossierIf your emergency caregiver's assistance is needed, make it easier for them by having all of your pets' information in one place. Consider including things like habits, food preferences, medical conditions and medications taken, veterinarian contact information, medical and vaccination records, and any behavioral tendencies. 2203

The lives of the rich and famous are about to get a lot less smoky after the Beverly Hills City Council voted to ban the retail sale of most tobacco products Tuesday night in a first-of-its-kind ordinance. The law will go into effect New Year's Day in 2021.The retail sale of cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco and electronic cigarettes sold in gas stations, convenience stores, pharmacies and grocery stores will be banned. This is the first U.S. city to end most tobacco sales. There are some exceptions though — existing cigar lounges can still operate and hotels will be able to sell cigarettes and other items to its guests."We pride ourselves on being a healthy city and I feel so proud that we are really about to prove that we are taking steps to be among the healthiest city in the world," said Council Member Lili Bosse. Beverly Hills was the first city in California to ban smoking inside restaurants and most public places back in 1987. 979

The first three nomination races have not gone well for former Vice President Joe Biden. The once frontrunner for the Democratic nomination has struggled to attract voters to the polls thus far. But Saturday’s primary in South Carolina could be what the doctor ordered for an ailing campaign. Or it could be what brings the campaign to a halt going into Super Tuesday. POLLS CLOSE AT 7 P.M. ET ON SATURDAY.South Carolina represents the most delegates (54) that have been up for grabs in a nominating race so far. It is also far more diverse than Iowa and New Hampshire. While Biden was hopeful a more diverse electorate would improve his fortunes in Nevada, he watched as Sen. Bernie Sanders won in convincing fashion last week. Still, Nevada was Biden’s best performance of the three races so far, but his second-place finish only showed how much ground he has lost to Sanders. DELEGATE COUNT THROUGH FEB. 28:SANDERS: 45BUTTIGIEG: 26BIDEN: 15WARREN: 8KLOBUCHAR: 71991 NEEDED TO WIN THE NOMINATIONPolling for Saturday’s primary indicates South Carolina could put Biden back into the mix as Democrats prepare for the most important night of the nomination on Tuesday. Monmouth University released a South Carolina primary poll on Thursday indicating Biden was leading the pack with 36%. The poll showed that Sanders and Tom Steyer were jockeying for second with 16% and 15% respectively. 15% is a key figure for the race as it is the threshold to receive delegates – anything less results in a goose egg. Helping Biden’s standing with the black vote was this week’s endorsement from Rep. Jim Clyburn. Clyburn, the third-most powerful Democrat in the House, has been one of South Carolina’s most recognizable Democrats for decades. “I know Joe Biden. I know his character, his heart, and his record. Joe Biden has stood for the hard-working people of South Carolina. We know Joe. But more importantly, he knows us,” Clyburn told voters this week. Following Saturday’s race is Super Tuesday when one-third of all delegates are up for grabs. The night could be intriguing for several reasons. One is the foray of Mike Bloomberg into the race. He sat out the first four nominating contests, and has spent a fortune of his own money to advertise in delegate-rich states such as Texas and California. Super Tuesday also could provide clarity on which candidate or candidates will take on Sanders deep into the nominating race. Finally, it could give an indication on whether Democrats need to prepare for a brokered convention. As Democrats allocate delegates proportionally, having a candidate such as Sanders come away with a majority of the delegates by July's convention could be a challenge. 2701
