DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A woman in Florida is being charged with animal cruelty after being caught on video throwing a dog off a motel balcony.The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office shared body cam footage of the incident when they announced the arrest of 35-year-old Allison Murphy on Tuesday.Warning: Some may find the video below disturbingOfficers say they responded to the Dayton Beach motel around noon Monday after staff reported that Murphy had been standing over a railing and threatening to jump. After knocking several times, the sheriff’s office says the women came out with a leashed German shepherd, which she picked up and threw over the railing to the ground.Authorities say the dog landed feet first and ran away before being corralled by bystanders. It was then turned over to Volusia County Animal Services, who nicknamed her “Miracle,” because no name was provided.“Miracle” was taken to an animal hospital for emergency evaluation. She thankfully escaped serious injury, but an x-ray did reveal a sewing needle was lodged one of her thighs, according to the sheriff’s office. She underwent a procedure to remove it and is recovering in the care of a foster family, who wants to adopt her if a court grants animal services custody.As for Murphy, the sheriff’s office says she was taken into custody and will be facing felony charges of animal cruelty and resisting an officer with violence. 1528

DESCANSO (KGTV) -- A San Diego County couple is warning others after getting a flat tire from an unusual source. Pamela Jessup was running errands in her Toyota RAV4 on SR-79 near Old Highway 80 last Thursday when she heard a thump.Jessup says she pulled over and looked at her back tire. After not seeing anything wrong, she went on her way.The thumping, however, only intensified after she drove onto Interstate 8. When she drove home, Jessup says her husband Davis found a temporary lane marker nailed in to the tire.While doing their due diligence, the Descanso residents found dozens of temporary nail markers along the side of the road in the same area where Jessup ran into issues.A local tire shop was able to fix the damage to the tire, but it cost the pair . Other residents in the area took to social media to complain similar events that happened to them.On Facebook, at least three others said they also got flat tires after driving through the area.From Tuesday through Friday, neighbors reported a road construction project that included restriping.A spokesperson for the Caltrans subcontractor Granite Construction issued this statement: 1179

DETROIT — A 20-year-old woman believed to have died was found breathing at a Detroit funeral home.According to an attorney hired by her family, workers at the funeral home were close to embalming Timesha Beauchamp before realizing that she was still breathing."They were about to embalm her which is most frightening had she not had her eyes open. They would have begun draining her blood to be very, very frank about it," said Geoffrey Fieger, an attorney who has been hired by Beauchamp's family.On Sunday morning, paramedics with the Southfield Fire Department in Michigan responded after receiving a call about an unresponsive woman. The department's fire chief said Beauchamp was not breathing when the paramedics arrived.First responders determined after 30 minutes of revival efforts that she was deceased."Because there was no indication of foul play, as per standard operating procedure, the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and given the medical data. The patient was again determined to have expired and the body was released directly to the family to make arrangements with a funeral home of their choosing," the chief said in a statement.Fieger says that Beauchamp's godmother — a registered nurse — tried to tell EMS workers that she felt a pulse.Hours later, the staff at the James H. Cole funeral home realized she was still breathing. "It’s one of people's worst nightmares to imagine having an ambulance called and instead, sending you off to a funeral home in a body bag. The funeral home unzipping the body bag, literally, that’s what happened to Timesha, and seeing her alive with her eyes open," Fieger said.Beauchamp is in critical condition at Sinai Grace Hospital and is on a ventilator. After which, the Southfield Police Department contacted the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office to notify them of the findings and the on-duty forensic pathologist released the body to the family," the Southfield Fire Department said in a statement. "The Southfield Fire and Police Departments followed all appropriate city, county and state protocols and procedures in this case. DENVER, Colorado – The man suspected of killing his wife and two daughters last week is likely to be formally charged today by Weld County prosecutors.The district attorney’s office has until 3:30 p.m. Mountain Time today to file formal charges against 33-year-old Chris Watts in the case. He was arrested late last Wednesday for investigation of first-degree murder and tampering with deceased body charges and has been held without bond.His pregnant wife and daughters, 34-year-old Shanann Watts, 3-year-old Celeste and 4-year-old Bella, were reported missing last Monday by a family friend after Shanann missed a doctor’s appointment.A day after the three were reported missing, Chris Watts gave an interview to KMGH television station in which he pleaded for the girls to come home and said he and his wife “had an emotional conversation” before he allegedly last saw her. Watts confessed to killing the three of them, two law enforcement sources told Denver7 last week.Shanann’s body was discovered in a field on Anadarko Petroleum Company property. Court documents show her body was found in a "shallow grave near an oil tank." Her daughter’s bodies were discovered concealed within oil tanks nearby, sources told KMGH television station. Court documents filed late last week show experts were advised the bodies were in tanks filled with crude oil "for several days." Chris Watts had been an Anadarko employee but was fired by the company Wednesday.On Friday, the coroner's office announced they had positively identified the bodies as those of Shanann Watts and her two daughters. The manner and cause of death of all three bodies are pending further laboratory results and have not been released at this time.A court motion filed by Watts’ defense attorneys late last week suggested the girls were possibly strangled. In the motion, the attorneys had asked a judge to compel the coroner to take DNA swabs from the necks and throats of the two girls, though the judge dismissed the motion. A judge also denied a request from the defense to allow an expert to be present at autopsies.Weld County prosecutors said in court last week they believed the two girls and their mother were killed inside the home but did not elaborate. Frederick police said Friday they still had several days of interviews to complete before Monday's deadline.The case has been sealed since late last Wednesday while the police investigation continued.
