FALLBROOK (CNS) - A 28-year-old man was busted in Fallbrook for agreeing to purchase alcohol for a minor, authorities said Saturday.The man was arrested Friday night in a so-called "Shoulder Tap" operation and was the only one out of 20 adults asked by a minor decoy working with deputies who agreed to purchase alcohol for the teenager, according to Sgt. Nancy Blanco of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.The suspect was arrested on suspicion of furnishing alcohol to a minor, which is a misdemeanor, she said.Two men, ages 24 and 25, who were with the suspect were also taken into custody for parole and probation violations, Blanco said.The minors also tried to purchase alcohol from retailers at five separate locations, but none of the locations sold alcohol to the decoy, she said. 803

(KGTV) - The FBI and Escondido Police asked Thursday for the public’s help to find three men suspected of robbing a North County bank.The takeover-style robbery happened just before 10 a.m. on May 23, according to FBI Special Agent Davene Butler.The group backed an SUV against the front doors of the San Diego County Credit Union, 1875 S. Centre City Parkway, and went inside the bank.Investigators said the men were wearing masks and displayed handguns, ordering employees to lie on the ground, the FBI reported. Two of the men pointed their guns at different employees and demanded access to the vault. Once inside the vault, the men used trash cans to collect cash before leaving the area.The men drove south in a 1980s Chevrolet Suburban, which had been reported stolen earlier in the week.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego FBI at 858-320-1800 or San Diego Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.A reward of ,000 is available for tips leading to an arrest. 1002

Candles on Tap in downtown Encinitas is taking the chance."Today is a big, nerve-wracking, exciting day but we are opening to the public," CEO and co-founder Chantel Johnson said. She and CFO and co-founder Marcus Wandell are hopeful about their new venture. "The feature event is the scent bar where you pull up a chair and pour your own blend," said Wandell. Johnson added, "We are a custom scent bar so when people come in, they’re able to hand pour their own soy candles, diffusers, and fragrance sprays and they get to choose from over 90 scents." Wandell says some of his personal favorites in their shop include a scent called "old books" and they also have a "cannabis" smell.The two are well aware of what they’re getting into. "We're opening in the middle of a pandemic and it's a brick and mortar store so what could go wrong, right?" (KGTV) - The Escondido Union High School District is celebrating a grant renewal of over million to go towards helping students.The ASSETs grant comes from the federal government and helps funds after-school programs and other support services for students and parents.The district has received this funding for the past 10 years and schools have put it to good use.San Pasqual High School has created unique clubs like ukulele, welding, robotics, and mountain biking. The money also funds academic tutoring as well as programs like Drivers Ed.Everything created through the ASSETs grant money is free for students. "I can tell you it has literally transformed the experience for hundreds of students, hundreds," said San Pasqual High School Principal Martin Casas.Up until last week, next year's grant money wasn't a sure thing. Casas says the district worried the money would be cut from the federal budget.ASSETs grant schools like San Pasqual were trying to figure out which programs they'd have to cut if the funding didn't come through. Casas estimates they would have had to cut half of their programs.But now that the funding is secured, schools can look forward to creating even more programs.They'll receive 0,000 each year for the next five years.Some new programs in the works include building skateboards, music production, and mariachi.In addition to San Pasqual High, Orange Glen, Escondido and Valley High Schools will be getting ASSETs funding.The district says over 75 percent of its students qualify for free and reduced lunch, so these programs are vital.  1618
