A video of a woman who was allegedly resisting arrest while being beaten by police officers on a New Jersey beach on Saturday has been shared 1,000s of times since being published. Emily Weinman, a resident of Philadelphia, claimed that officers questioned her about underage drinking while she was on a beach in Wildwood, New Jersey. Weinman claimed that she was given an alcohol breath test, which came back negative. Weinman added in a Facebook post that the officers from the Wildwood, New Jersey Police were going to let her go, but when she asked officers why they were enforcing underage drinking rather than more serious crimes, that is when the officers had a change of heart. Weinman said that officers asked for her to identify herself, which she refused to do. Weinman claims an officer said, "I was gonna let you go but now I'll write you up." 894

A Nevada Sheriff has taken to Facebook to apologize after leaving her gun in the bathroom of a casino.Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly left her Glock .45 in a restroom toilet stall last week at Saddle West, a hotel, casino and RV Park in Pahrump.Casino General Manager Gregg Schatzman confirmed there was a weapon recovered last week in the bathroom by a porter who was cleaning. He said the porter turned it over to security, who then turned it over to him where it was locked up until the sheriff reclaimed it.Wehrly believes the incident happened last Tuesday or Wednesday but could not confirm which day she left her gun behind. She said she was only separated from her gun for about 10 minutes. She realized it was missing and went back to the restaurant where she'd been having lunch. She says she never left the building."It's a big responsibility to have a firearm and an even bigger responsibility to make sure it's kept in a safe environment all the time. However, people are human and mistakes happen," Wehrly said. "A gun is a tool, and we should always keep track of our tools. I was remiss in this case because I was on the phone dealing with an emergency. I was blessed that someone responsible found it."Schatzman added that there's always a concern when a weapon is left in a restroom. He said leaving a gun, especially a duty weapon, is very, very serious."There was a hole and fortunately we picked it up and so we're in good shape," Schatzman said.He emphasized his high regard for the Nye County Sheriff's Office and their quick response time whenever the casino needs them.Wehrly admitted that this is not the first time she's left her gun behind, though the others, she says, were in the distant past.She recalled a 1984 incident where she left her gun at the U.S. Department of Energy headquarters in Mercury and ended up working an entire shift without it. A more than 4,000-year-old private tomb containing "exceptionally well-preserved" drawings has been discovered south of Cairo, according to Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities.Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anani said the tomb had been discovered at the Saqqara archaeological site and was from the 5th dynasty of the pharaohs, which ruled roughly 4,400 years ago.The tomb belonged to a royal purification priest known as "Wahtye," al-Anani said in a statement. Inscriptions suggested the priest had served during the reign of King Nefer-Ir-Ka-Re and was the king's supervisor and inspector of the holy boat.Al-Anani said the tomb's walls were decorated with colored scenes depicting Wahtye with his mother, wife and family.The head of the excavation mission, Mostafa Waziri, said other drawings showed wine and pottery making, musical performances, sailing, hunting and the manufacture of funeral furniture.Waziri said his team had reached the tomb in November but that it had taken some time to enter as its doors were sealed.Some 50 niches inside the bomb also contained colored statues carved in rock, including of a person standing or in the scribe position, Waziri said."This statue might belong to the deceased or a member of his family," he said.The general director of the site, Sabry Farag, said the tomb was about 10 meters (33 feet) long and 3 meters (10 feet) wide, with a basement.It also contained five burial shafts, Waziri said, which will be the subject of further excavations.In November, the Antiquities Ministry announced that a mass cat cemetery and a collection of rare mummified scarab beetles were among seven tombs discovered at Saqqara.Saqqara is also home to the famous Step Pyramid. 1715

Shadow Health is using virtual patients to train real people in hopes of quickly bringing those real students into the workforce.From pediatrics to maternal health, the future of nursing school is happening now.“The technology is so good, you’ll get an answer. You might not get the answer you’re looking for; you’ll have to rephrase and that’s the way it is in real life too,” said Lorrie Rilko, an assistant professor at George Washington University’s School of Nursing.She was a nurse practitioner for 30 years and then decided it was time to help the next generation of nurses.“My greatest responsibility is to prepare future nurse practitioners in the art of accurate history taking and skilled physical exam and then putting all of the pieces of the puzzle together to come up with a clinical diagnosis,” Rilko said.She says George Washington University was already using this simulated technology when the pandemic hit. The pandemic put the program in the perfect position to continue training new medical professionals and it allows them to learn, practice and fail on computers rather than on real live patients.“It's kind of like telehealth,” Rilko said. “We’ve had telehealth and until we had to really rely on telehealth, there were a lot of barriers to overcome."Brent Gordon is the managing director for Elsevier's nursing and health education business, which recently acquired Shadow Health.“One of the challenges in higher education institutions, specifically in the United States and this is true worldwide, is that they have challenges meeting the demand, they have capacity constraints,” Gordon said. “One example is shortage of clinical space. Digital simulations help solve that problem.”He says one of the real problems that the virtual education solves is that of communication, which he says can be at the root of medical malpractice claims.“Nurses are increasingly graduating, passing the (National Council Licensure Examination) NCLEX but not entering practice with the clinical reasoning skills they need to be successful on day one," said Gordon.Rilko said her students enjoy the virtual interaction, and they like training on their own time.
