Popular digital marketplace Groupon has changed its cancellation policy after some people complained it was too restrictive.Before, once you purchased something in the marketplace, you had 24 hours to cancel your purchase. However, some businesses changed their hours of operation or how many people the business could support at once thanks to the pandemic, so customers would be losing their money on these purchases.Now, Groupon offers customers 72 hours to cancel any purchases, just in case. Even with the extended grace period though, some say it's still a good idea to call ahead and double-check how a business is operating."Figuring out what the business looks like, have their hours been affected, are they temporarily closed because of COVID and if they are open it’s not a bad idea to call and see if they are honoring the group because so many businesses are being affected by COVID," Sara Kemerer, a Tri-State public relations specialist with the Better Business Bureau, said to WCPO.On its coronavirus update page, Groupon said if your voucher was extended past its expiration date, you'd receive an email with the new expiration date.Groupon also said you can check your My Groupons on your account to see if the expiration date has been extended. President Donald Trump has decried the demonstrations, saying police in Portland had lost control and he deployed federal agents. Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf has blasted the protesters as “lawless anarchists." But city and state officials say they didn't ask for the federal forces to intervene in protests against racial injustice that have gripped Portland for weeks. Portland Mayor Tom Wheeler said Sunday that federal officers are not wanted. Oregon’s attorney general is seeking an order to stop federal agents from arresting people.These statements come after reports that federal forces are driving around in unmarked vehicles and detaining demonstrators.Democratic leaders in the U.S. House are asking for federal inspectors general to investigate federal law enforcement involvement in trying to quell nightly protests in Portland, Oregon, and other cities. POWYS, Wales – A police dog in Wales had an eventful first shift and he deserves all the treats.Dyfed-Powys Police say their newly licensed dog, Max, found a missing mother and her 1-year-old child on the edge of a ravine during his first night on the job.Police say the 2-year-old German shepherd and his handler, PC Peter Lloyd, were crucial in tracking down the woman and toddler, who were reported missing on Saturday.The woman had reportedly not been seen or heard from for two days, which was out of character, and her phone wasn’t working.Thankfully, officers say the woman’s car was quickly found on a mountain road, which gave crews an area to start searching.“This is where PD Max’s tracking skills really came into play,” said Inspector Jonathan Rees-Jones in a press release. “Despite only recently becoming licensed, and on his first operational shift, he immediately commenced an open area search.”Police say Max and Lloyd covered a significant distance and at 1:30 p.m., they spotted the missing woman waving for help near a steep ravine on the mountain side. She was helped down, and arrangements were made for her and her baby to be checked out by medical professionals.“They were safe, but cold, and appeared to have been in the area for a significant amount of time,” said Rees-Jones.Max is a general-purpose dog, who will primarily be used for tracking and locating people in buildings and open air, tracing discarded property and tracking and detaining suspects, according to police.“I was really pleased that during our first operational deployment as a dog team, myself and Max were able to safely locate the missing mother and baby,” said Lloyd. “Max remained focused throughout the long search and he proved invaluable when he reacted to the call for help which resulted in us locating them.” 1825
