SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Parents and students are concerned after someone found a bullet in a Point Loma High School restroom. The incident was reported on Monday and while students say there was a lack of communication from school staff, word traveled fast on campus. The school says police are now investigating. "We never heard anything over the intercom or anything," says senior Javan Hedrick. "In my 4th period class, it came up out of nowhere. Everyone was talking about some bullet found in the boys bathroom." Around noon, parents received an email sent from the school's principal, that says in part: "At Point Loma, our first priority is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students. As such, I wanted to make you aware of an incident that occurred this morning. School Police investigated a report of a bullet found on the floor of the boys restroom. After an investigation, it was determined there was no threat."Some parents pulled their kids out of class and aren't sure when they'll send them back. "I walked into the office, it was a crazy amount of kids trying to go home," says Hedrick. Students say they would have felt a little better if school staff talked to them about the incident. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Officers responding to a reported car crash in Sherman Heights early Thursday morning found a man in one of the vehicles suffering from gunshot wounds.At around 12 a.m., San Diego police officers were dispatched to 27th and K streets after a vehicle crash.When officers arrived, they found a car had slammed into at least one parked car.Inside one of the cars was a man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries, according to SDPD officials.Police learned the driver was heading south in the 300 block of 27th Street when some area residents reported hearing gunfire. The driver eventually collided with the parked vehicle in the 200 block of 27th Street.The victim was identified as a 25-year-old Hispanic male.SDPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. 835

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for an at-risk man who disappeared from a senior living facility late Saturday afternoon. According to police, 77-year-old Mario Aello left The Shores Post-Acute senior living facility around 4:45 p.m. Saturday. Aello reportedly told another patient he had plans to leave the facility to visit his sister in Sonora, Mexico. Aello suffers from short-term dementia and type two diabetes, police say. Aello is described as five feet, seven inches tall with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, a black and gray jacket, blue shorts and brown shoes. 610

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police have identified the woman shot and killed, allegedly by her boyfriend, at a Point Loma strip mall earlier this month.San Diego Police said 20-year-old Octavia Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., was fatally shot in the parking lot at 4013 W. Point Loma Blvd. just before midnight on Oct. 9.Paramedics transported Williams to the hospital where she died.MAP: Track crime happening in San Diego CountyPolice identified Williams' killer as 41-year-old Joe Bennette Conway. Conway is believed to be Williams' boyfriend, according to City News Service, and the shooting took place after an argument.Conway was described as 5’7” tall and 150 pounds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Officials are seeking the public's help to identify a young woman who was hit and killed on Interstate 5 near the San Clemente Border Patrol station almost two weeks ago.The Hispanic female, believed to be in her late teens to early 20s, was hit while trying to run across northbound I-5 lanes at about 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 9.She may have recently traveled to the country from Mexico or another Central American country, according to Medical Examiner investigator Tessa Lee.RELATED: Unaccompanied girl hit, killed walking on Interstate 5 near San Clemente border station"We are hoping that someone may recognize this young woman so we can identify her and notify her family," Lee said.A fingerprint search in the FBI and U.S. Border Patrol databases came back with no matches.The woman had brown eyes, long hair, weighed about 111 pounds, and was 5-feet 1-inches tall.
