SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) - Professional lacrosse player Jules Heningburg joined the San Diego Seals and played with the team until the season was cut short due to coronavirus. The athlete said his aunt works for the CDC, so he’s taken the virus seriously since the beginning.“I was following the rules there, I was wearing a mask, socially distancing, washing my hands, I really didn’t see anyone other than my roommate,” said Heningburg.He said even when some businesses moved further into reopening in San Diego, he continued his carefulness.“I had to just make sure I was going to keep myself safe, so I continued to follow quarantine on my own protocol, not going out. I didn’t go to bars, I didn’t do anything like that, I didn’t go to any restaurants,” he said.Then, as rules continued to relax, he went to one single birthday party, then found out later that someone at the party had tested positive. A few days later and he knew something was wrong with him.“I was having a conversation and all of a sudden I got really tired, like mid talk at 6:30 at night,” he said.He tested positive and said at first his symptoms were not terrible. Once he was not contagious, he traveled to Utah to play in a lacrosse league, and since he had previously tested positive, he had to do extra doctors visits. That’s when he realized the impacts on his health were worse that he thought. His oxygen levels quickly fell during tests.“As a professional athlete and someone who is in really good shape, when you start moving around that level should not drop. When I started to walk around those levels started to drop,” he said.He said with levels dropping this rapidly, he had an increased risk of cardiac arrest. He then realized how close he came to losing his life, thankful he had done the extra tests that showed he had a problem.“I followed all the rules and I was still put in a situation and exposed to it and could have died,” he said.This meant exercising and playing were not an option, so ultimately Heningburg has to sit out from the Utah league. He came back to San Diego to rest and heal, then will figure out when it’s safe for him to play again.He said he wants to send a message to San Diego that the virus is dangerous and he, a young and athletic man who almost lost his life, is proof. 2306

But some experts say this may not have a significant effect in San Diego County.It all began with the 1968 Fair Housing Act (FHA), a law that came out of the Civil Rights Era, abolishing lending discrimination and redlining neighborhoods according to race and other factors."A lot of communities here in San Diego, you can look at your deeds, and if you look in a pre-war neighborhood here, you are very likely to see that in the past, there was covenant against selling to a person of color," Stephen Russell, Executive Director of the San Diego Housing Federation, said. "That history is not that old."Then came the Obama-Era Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH Rule). (KGTV) - An East County woman was devastated to find out the money she spent to buy a new cat likely went to con artists.“I just felt like I lost my sense of love for humanity,” Suzi Moon told Team 10. Moon’s Maine Coon cat, Teka, recently passed away. She was 15-years-old and a longtime member of her family.“He was the best cat ever,” Moon said. When he died, she was heartbroken.“I was in an emotional mode,” Moon said. “I wanted to get another one because I just was so used to that cat.”Moon searched online and found a website that advertised pure Maine Coone cats. She emailed the website and got a response. “They emailed me back and this cat that I saw on the website was a gray cat. Beautiful,” she said.She also spoke to someone on the phone, who sounded legitimate. The man asked her questions, such as whether or not she was having the cat indoors and if she was declawing the cat. Moon eventually scraped up 0 and sent the money through Zelle, something she now regrets.The day the supposed seller was supposed to ship the cat to her, he asked for more money for a special crate. “We need to have you cash app, send ,000 more,” Moon said. After back and forth with the seller and refusing to pay more, Moon said they eventually blocked her number. The 0 she paid was gone. The website, puremainecoons.com, is no longer active. Team 10 found the website on petscams.com, a site that bills itself as a pet watchdog website. The Better Business Bureau said pets are the top scam when it comes to online purchases. The average loss is 0. Moon wanted to share her mistake with others in hopes nobody else falls victim to this scam.“I just felt violated. There [are] people out there taking advantage like that. The BBB suggests do not buy a pet without seeing it in person. The organization also recommends conducting an internet search of the photo.
