(KGTV) - An earthquake struck northern Mexico’s Baja California peninsula Monday, causing tremors felt in San Diego County.The 4.8 quake was located near Alberto Oviedo Mota at 12:18 p.m.The initial quake was followed by a 3.3 aftershock in the same area seven minutes later.Alberto Oviedo Mota is roughly 160 miles from San Diego. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the shaking in San Diego County was in the II-III or IV categories, meaning weak to light. The strongest shaking reported in the U.S. was in El Centro, which was considered moderate.There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries. 626

Brunton claimed Takei took advantage of him in 1981 when Brunton, then 23, was going through a breakup, according to The Hollywood Reporter."This happened a long time ago, but I have never forgotten it," Brunton told The Hollywood Reporter. "It is one of those stories you tell with a group of people when people are recounting bizarre instances in their lives, this always comes up. (KGTV) -- A fire that tore through a Chula Vista playground overnight is being investigated as suspicious, the Chula Vista Fire Department says.The fire was reported just after 4:50 a.m. at the Veterans Park Community Center. Video of the scene shows roaring flames erupting from the playground before a loud explosion is audible. At this time, the department says the fire is under investigation as suspicious. Several other residential and business fires also took place overnight Saturday and into the early morning. The first fire damaged an El Cajon home on the 1700 block of Hacienda Place just before 3:30 a.m. One person was injured due to smoke inhalation. Heartland Fire and Rescue says one man was found in the backyard of the home with minor injuries. Another person suffered smoke inhalation.The blaze is under investigation by the El Cajon Police Department and the Sheriff Department’s Bomb and Arson unit.The second fire burned through the La Tiendita Mexican Market on the 3800 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard around 9 a.m. Saturday. (KGTV) - A proposed bill moving through California's legislature would — hopefully — eliminate fears of an awful driver's license photo.SB-1407 would allow drivers to have the ultimate say in their license photo. The bill would let drivers take up to three pictures at the Department of Motor Vehicles and then choose which one they like best.Drivers would also be allowed to have their photo taken outside of the DMV by a pre-approved photography center.RELATED: California DMVs now taking applications for Real ID driver's licenses, identification cardsWhile all of this sounds great for drivers who loathe their license photo, it could come at a cost. The bill says there would be an extra fee for each additional photo but didn't specify how much. That revenue would be put toward driver's education programs at public schools.So far, the bill has passed through the state Senate Transportation Committee Tuesday and has been referred next to the Committee on Appropriations. 1002
