(KGTV) -- Bay Area authorities are investigating the shooting death of one security officer and injuries to another after they were gunned down amid fiery protests in Oakland late Friday night.The shooting happened outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, a few blocks from where thousands of demonstrators where gathered.A statement from the FBI sent to Bay Area media said that at about 9:45 p.m., a vehicle approached the federal building and a gunman inside the car fired at the officers. The security officers are contracted by the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security.The Mercury News reported that the Oakland Police Department said the shooting “is unrelated to tonight’s demonstration.”It’s unknown if police have any suspects in custody.FBI San Francisco and Oakland Police Department continue to investigate the shooting, KRON news reported.The incident happened as large groups of demonstrators clashed with police in downtown Oakland to protest the death of George Floyd. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died after Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, knelt on his neck until he passed out.ABC 7 News in San Francisco is reporting that 60 suspected looters were detained for further investigation and 18 people were arrested by Oakland police. (KGTV) — At least 50,000 people were ordered to evacuate as multiple fires burned north of Los Angeles Thursday amid dangerously dry and windy conditions.The Tick Fire started about 2 p.m. in the Canyon Country area of Santa Clarita and spread east to Agua Dulce. Cal Fire reported about 8:30 p.m. the fire had spread to 3,950 acres. Several structures were lost. As of 6:20 p.m., firefighters had slowed the fire's progress.Mandatory Tick Fire evacuations are in effect for all residents north of 14 freeway, east of Whites/Plum Canyon, south of Vasquez Canyon, west of Agua Dolce. (KGTV) -- A skydiver has died following an accident near Skydive San Diego Sunday morning. The agency tweeted around 11 a.m. that a skydiver was injured near Otay Lakes Road northwest of the glider port. Cal Fire later confirmed that the skydiver died while crews performed CPR.
