(KGTV) — A bill that aims to end the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California is heading to the state Senate.Assembly Bill 2152, known as "Bella’s Act," would prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits, but still allow stores to partner with rescues and shelters for adoption events. The bill also stops pet stores from receiving any money from adoption transactions or from using the store or its resources in connection with adoption events.Assemblymember Todd Gloria, who introduced Bella's Act in February, said the bill is meant to crack down on those who got around the first attempt by the state."When we have animals in California who are still being bred and raised in unhealthy and inhumane conditions for profit, we cannot turn a blind eye," Gloria said in a release earlier this year. "Bella’s Act will fulfill our promise to end the inhumane puppy mill industry by officially prohibiting the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California and encouraging pet retailers to partner with rescue groups and shelters. (CNN) -- John Cena is playing a firefighter in a new movie and wants to help some real-life first responders.On Monday the wrestler-turned-actor tweeted a video announcing his plan to donate 0,000 to those currently fighting the California wildfires.The actor portrays a firefighter in the forthcoming film "Playing with Fire" and tweeted "I'm asking that today on #FirstRespondersDay we do everything we can to help those who risk their lives to protect us all."Thousands have had to evacuate their homes and there have been power outages in the midst of multiple fires including including the Kincade Fire, Tick Fire and Getty Fire.Cena plugged his new comedy, which is in theaters November 8, and said it "showcases a group of people I believe are heroes -- first responders."He then segued into the fact that "California is in dire straits.""It is burning," he said. "It is under siege from massive wildfires statewide, which means that our first responders are working around the clock and they need our help."He then called on Paramount, the studio behind his new film, to select a charity which aids first responders."And on behalf of 'Playing With Fire' and out of respect to the people who I truly believe are heroes my response will be to immediately donate half a million dollars to this cause," Cena said. (KGTV) - A proposed bill moving through California's legislature would — hopefully — eliminate fears of an awful driver's license photo.SB-1407 would allow drivers to have the ultimate say in their license photo. The bill would let drivers take up to three pictures at the Department of Motor Vehicles and then choose which one they like best.Drivers would also be allowed to have their photo taken outside of the DMV by a pre-approved photography center.RELATED: California DMVs now taking applications for Real ID driver's licenses, identification cardsWhile all of this sounds great for drivers who loathe their license photo, it could come at a cost. The bill says there would be an extra fee for each additional photo but didn't specify how much. That revenue would be put toward driver's education programs at public schools.So far, the bill has passed through the state Senate Transportation Committee Tuesday and has been referred next to the Committee on Appropriations. 1002

(KGTV) — A woman was charged with lying to federal agents after she was able to sneak past security at Mar-a-Lago with a thumb drive containing "malicious malware" last weekend, according to a Florida criminal complaint.Yujing Zhang, 32, lied to Secret Service agents and made it deep in President Trump's Florida property before it was discovered that she was not on the property's access list, according to ABC News.She was caught with two Taiwanese passports, four cellphones, and a thumb drive containing the malicious malware, the complaint says.Zhang reportedly told agents she was asked by a Chinese friend to try and discuss foreign policy with a Trump family member, ABC News reported. The president was not at the club during the incident.Zhang has also been charged with entering restricted grounds.An investigation by the Secret Service is ongoing.ABC News contributed to this report. 905
