A law class at Georgia State University will focus on the life and career of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss this upcoming semester.In a press release, the university said the singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur will be the subject of Professor Mo Ivory's course of Entertainment, Sports, and Media Law Initiative, which prepares students for Georgia’s growing entertainment industry.“I chose Kandi because she has an amazing career, which spans every aspect of the entertainment industry from music, television, and live performance to licensing, apparel, and more,” Ivory said in the news release. “I wanted to study a woman this time around, and having worked with Kandi in the past, I knew she was the perfect choice. A Land O' Lakes, Florida man who was just released from prison was arrested for attempted vehicle theft again before he even left the jail parking lot.Klaid Karpuzi, 41, was arrested when deputies say he tried to steal a truck with a teen in the backseat just three days earlier.As Karpuzi was walking through the jail parking lot following his release, he reportedly tried to get into a vehicle by walking around it, then pulling on the passenger door handle.Inside the vehicle was an off-duty deputy who happened to be at the jail to take a class.When Karpuzi pulled on the handle, Deputy Brunner stepped out of the vehicle, where she and another deputy detained him.Karpuzi told the deputies he saw a vehicle with the engine running and did not realize anyone was in it.He was arrested for attempted auto theft and returned to the jail. A drug used to treat type 2 diabetes and designed to lower glucose levels is being recalled because the manufacturer found it contained high levels of a cancer-causing agent.Marksans Pharma Limited is recalling metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets because levels of NDMA were higher than the acceptable daily intake limit, according to a release from the Food and Drug Administration.The release says the company has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall at this time.NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen, a substance that could cause cancer, based on results from laboratory tests. It’s a known environmental contaminant “found in water and foods, including meats, dairy products and vegetables,” according to the FDA.”These tablets are used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The pills were distributed nationally to wholesalers and pharmacies.Customers with questions about the recall or have recalled medications, return to the place of purchase. Coronavirus testing was done on anyone who may have had contact with the product, and so far tests have come back negative, according to city officials.Authorities are tracing related products from the same brand that have already been sold, and have disinfected the area where the contaminated chicken wings were stored, according to CNN.The city warns people about buying imported frozen meat and aquatic products and to take steps to reduce the risk of contracting the coronavirus.The CDC and WHO say the chances of catching the coronavirus from food is low.“Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that handling food or consuming food is associated with COVID-19,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states on their website.However, they continue by stating it is possible a person could touch a surface that has the virus on it and then touch their mouth or nose, potentially spreading the virus.The CDC recommends safe food practices like washing hands after touching food packaging and food products, and cooking meat thoroughly. 1290
