This is real and I’ve been on the front lines since it started and its sad that a lot of people aren’t wearing masks and social distancing.”He says he prefers the traveling nurse aspect of his profession. There's more flexibility, and he says, it's better pay. As a former trauma nurse in the military, it's like a deployment. When asked how her organization fulfills the need, she said, “It's never a matter of how are we going to do it, it's at what scale.”“At this time last year, we had 3,000 nurses on assignment right, now we’ve got 6,000,” Pasquale Bartlett added.Traveling nurses, she says, have been backfilling hospitals for 30 years.“It really came out of the strike business when nurses were unionizing and going on strikes, they needed replacement nurses so the hospital started bringing in travel nurses to replace those striking nurses,” Pasquale Bartlett said.They answer the call when there are hurricanes, fires, intense flu seasons, and the coronavirus. Except, unlike those other short-lived events, there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.“I know everybody (is) tired of what’s going on, ready to get back out there, go shopping, have parties, but we need to control this before you die or before your family member dies and then it’s too late so just stay safe,” Street said.Street says the difference between responses in each state is fascinating. Anita Hall, along with the Hollywood Commission, will launch a new anonymous reporting platform next year to hold serial harassers in the movie industry accountable.Hill, who made history in October 1991 when she testified before Congress about the alleged sexual harassment she experienced when she was an aide by then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.Twenty-nine years later, Hill is still finding ways to address the abuse and harassment women still face today.The Hollywood Commission, founded by entertainment lawyer Nina Shaw and Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy and Hill chairs, recently spearheaded a survey that found survivors want to track harassment and abuse in the workplace.According to the survey, 93% of the 9,630 anonymous current and former workers in Hollywood said they wanted "technology for victims to create a time-stamped record" that would track harassment and abuse in the workplace.After its findings, the commission announced in September that by the first quarter of 2021, they would launch a cross-industry anonymous reporting platform that would help identify abusers.The platform would also allow users to ask questions or raise concerns through a two-way anonymous messaging system."For too long in Hollywood, there have been 'open secrets' about the harassment perpetrated on workers by powerful people who are able to successfully evade accountability for their actions," said Hill in the press release. "With this survey, we have identified the most vulnerable workers in Hollywood and the resources and systems that will provide support and a safety net for them. Andrew Drechsel, who was crowned champion of "American Ninja Warrior" last year, was arrested and federally charged "with seeking sex with a minor and inducing her to send him sexual explicit images," U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito said in a statement."Drechsel, 31, of Saint Cloud, Florida, was charged with the manufacture of child pornography, enticement of a minor to travel for illicit sexual conduct, traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, and use of interstate commerce to entice a minor," Carpenito said in the news release. "He (Drechsel) made his initial appearance today (Wednesday) in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, prior to his transfer to the District of New Jersey."According to the court documents, Drechsel, and the alleged victim first met in 2014 at an event attended by numerous "American Ninja Warriors" contestants.In 2015, Drechsel and the alleged victim, then 15, first had sex at his Hamden, Connecticut gym, the court affidavit stated.The affidavit says the teen told her mother, who then confronted Drechsel. The mother said when told Drechsel that the alleged victim had just turned 15, he didn't deny having sex but stated he did not know her daughter's age, the affidavit said.In June 2019, the alleged victim, who was 19, made a complaint to the Cherry Hill Police Department in New Jersey, stating that she and Drechsel had sexual encounters multiple times when she was 15 to 17 years old, court records said.Drechsel's lawyer, Frank Riccio, said in a Tweet on Tuesday that his client plans on pleading not guilty. 1634

It was sold last year to the French rental clothing company Le Tote Inc.Lord and Taylor filed for bankruptcy on August 2.The company said the initial plan was to leave some stores open but decided it was a better financial decision to close all the stores.The liquidator for the company said customers could expect deep discounts on merchandise both in stores and online."This Going Out of Business event gives shoppers the opportunity to take advantage of exceptional savings on notable brands at rarely seen discounts," a spokesperson for the joint venture stated. An Oceanside City Councilman is proposing a tax credit for companies who hire Oceanside residents and pay them at least ,000 a year.Councilman Christopher Rodriguez says he wants to reward Oceanside businesses who hire locally. The proposal, which the City Council will initially discuss Wednesday, would pay Oceanside companies ,500 for each new hire who lives in Oceanside and is paid that minimum salary. "It's a big problem, housing affordability in North County," Rodriguez said. "North County, Coastal Oceanside, we're up and coming. It's more expensive to live here for sure."Rodriguez said his proposal is a starting point and that he is willing to move on the numbers based on council feedback. If there is support, city staff could analyze the proposal and return in 120 days with a concrete plan.Business groups such as the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce expressed support for the plan. Peter Rodriguez, an operations manager at Beachfront Only, a vacation rental property management firm, said the credit could help his company. He says Beachfront Only often hires Oceanside residents because they are close to most of their properties. The company has two openings that pay about ,000 a year.
