Officers in Columbus, Ohio are crediting a good Samaritan for tripping a suspect who was reaching into his waistband while being chased by officers. The police department released video from the April 3 incident on Thursday. Cameras captured the man, who Columbus Police are calling "Bill," casually sticking out his leg outside of a public library as the suspect ran behind him. The suspect then went flying into the sidewalk, giving officers an opportunity to arrest the unidentified suspect. Police said that they recovered a Glock 9 MM pistol with a high capacity extended clip containing 29 rounds near the suspect. Columbus Police added that citizen likely saved the suspect's life as officers might have shot the suspect for pulling out the gun. In the video released by Columbus Police, Bill said that he could see the suspect was holding something from his waistband."I heard him hit and the gun went sliding out," Bill said. (KGTV) - A nonprofit stopped in San Diego Thursday to thank veterans, 1,000 feet in the sky.The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation travels the country with their Boeing Stearman PT-17 biplane, an aircraft used for training during World War II.“In that plane, they’re 19, hot, and they’re rocking it!" said volunteer Lynn Sommars. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - The Rugby team at MiraCosta College has qualified for the National Championships in Pittsburgh.The Spartans Rugby program is in its first full competitive season, and due to the lack of Junior College teams in Southern California, they play a schedule that consists of NCAA 4-year schools.The MiraCosta Rugby team is made up of around 40 players, many of whom have backgrounds in football and wrestling.The team doesn't lack for experience, as a few players have been playing for over 10 years, like Ian Crilly, who says he's pleased with the team's progression."I've been playing for about 12 years now, so it was a little rough with these first year players. Trying to get them up to speed but we got there," said Crilly.The Spartans begin play in the National Championships on April 21, and win or lose, they feel all there success this season has put the school on the map for athletics.
