After losing a child to a drug overdose, one mother prepares to save others through a program to teach people how to handle the anti-overdose drug Narcan."Maybe I'll be at the right place at the right time for somebody else," Pat Jorgensen said.Pat's daughter, Tiffany, died five years ago at the age of 29. She's left raising Tiffany's daughter."Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her," Pat said. "When someone gets engrossed in a drug addiction, it's really hard coming out of it. It's the hardest thing to get off of. As her mother, I will always feel like what did I do? Maybe I did something wrong? It's been a very hard road. The whole family has been through a lot. It's not something you just get over."Pat and her son were among dozens who showed up to receive free Narcan, and training on how to use it to potentially save a life.The training session was held at the Water Tower in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood Wednesday night. In this case, the Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) has a Prevention Department that provided the free Narcan and training. The organization often gets requests from community and church group to host training sessions at no cost.Everyone who attended the meeting went home with three syringes and three vials of Narcan, as well as reminders on how to properly use it. 1349

Actress Naya Rivera was reportedly laid to rest last week after tragically passing away after drowning in early July while visiting Lake Piru in California.Rivera's death certificate, which was obtained by People and The Blast, said that the former "Glee" star died within a "manner of minutes," People reported. The death certificate also noted that her death was not contributed to any other significant factors.After her body was recovered on July 13, the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, which revealed that Rivera accidentally drowned during a boat trip with her 4-year-old son.CNN reported that Naya was laid to rest on July 24 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.Deadline said that Naya's last TV appearance will be in season 3 of Netflix's baking competition show "Sugar Rush," which would be released Friday. 863

A Highlands County, Florida resident has died from rabies after being bitten by a bat, the Florida Department of Health has confirmed.The DOH says that the disease was likely transmitted when the individual was bitten by the bat. They say that the individual did not seek treatment at that time and did not receive rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. The individual passed away from the rabies infection.DOH says that it is important to avoid direct contact with wildlife. If you believe you may have been exposed to rabies, including any physical contact with a bat, contact your health care provider and your county health department right away.If an exposure occurred, it is important to administer treatment in a timely manner. AMC Theatres announced Tuesday that it plans on opening “almost all” of its locations in July amid speculation over the company’s future.The theater chain, which has nearly 1,000 US locations, said it expects to be open for the July 17 release of “Tenet” and the July 24 premiere of “Mulan.”AMC did not unveil exact social distancing measures that would be implemented, but said it is working with Harvard University’s School of Public Health to develop best practices. AMC added that it is developing protocols for personal protection equipment, cleaning, limited theater capacity, blocked seating, and other strategies.“These are truly unprecedented times. Amazon is postponing it's Prime Day sale because of the pandemic.The massive sales bonanza normally takes place in mid-July.Amazon told CNN that they would be holding Prime Day "later than usual."The company says it will share more details soon.Prime Day is Amazon's version of Christmas in July, and sales during the two-day event have consistently outpaced Black Friday sales.Prime members in India are in luck, however.Amazon announced prime day there is on for August 6 and 7.Everyone else will have to wait. 520
