SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have identified both the victim and the suspect after a man died following a stabbing in Rancho Pe?asquitos Thursday afternoon. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 9500 block of High Park Lane just before 2 p.m.Police arrived as they say the suspect, Howard Forrest Lowe, 52, was riding away on a bike. Lowe was arrested and will be booked into jail on suspicion of murder, police say.After entering the home’s garage, police found 72-year-old Richard Dale Munsinger. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Now that Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration, San Diego County is one step closer to getting more people vaccinated.Moderna says its vaccine is safe and 94% effective. It will come in two doses taken 28 days apart.This week, there are two county hospitals that are expecting shipments of Moderna's vaccine. According to hospitals officials, the first shipment will arrive at Rady Children’s Hospital on Monday. It's unclear how many doses of the vaccine the hospital will receive.UC San Diego is also scheduled to receive their Moderna COVID-19 shipment this week.Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Twitter that California is expecting 672,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine. It’s still unclear how many of those will be given to San Diego.By the end of the week and with two vaccines available, the federal government expects there will be 7.9 million doses delivered to more than 3,700 locations across the country.The distribution of the Moderna vaccine comes as the Centers for Diease Control and Prevention releases new recommendations about who should get the vaccine next. The CDC says frontline essential workers and adults ages 75 and older should be the priority in the next round.The agency describes essential workers as firefighters, police, teachers, and school staff. Those working in food and agricultural sectors, as well as U.S. Postal Service employees, public transit workers, and grocery store workers would be in that category.San Diego County has not said if the CDC's new recommendations will have any impact on their vaccine roll out plan.Until a wide distribution is available, the governor asks people to stay at home and wear a mask. 1734

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than 70 non-profit groups and organizations teamed up and collected supplies for the thousands of migrants that arrived in Tijuana after leaving Central America.  Many are looking to enter the United States.Enrique Morones, the founder of Border Angels, say dozens of people will meet in San Diego Sat 10:!5 a.m. Saturday. They expect to pack 15 to 20 vehicles with much-needed supplies and bring them to Tijuana.  Morones calls it the ‘Caravan of Love.’Morones says atlas 30 groups will be represented when they make the delivery, which consists of non-perishable food, sleeping bags, toiletries, and more.“Just imagine if your house was on fire and you have to run out, and you have to live in the street, what would you need? It’s those same types of things because these people are escaping a very difficult situation in their home country… so they had to flee, they didn't have a lot of time to take things with them,” Morons said.Morones says doctors from UCLA and UCI will also be joining their Caravan of Love to give health exams to the migrants and families.“We wanna treat these people with kindness and love,” he said. 1172

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was killed and police were searching for a suspect after a shooting in the Chollas Creek neighborhood.San Diego Police said one victim was transported to a nearby hospital after the shooting at about 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 5200 block of University Avenue.Police later confirmed the victim died of their injuries.Police were still searching for a gunman following the shooting. SDPD's homicide unit has taken over the investigation.Delays for drivers are expected in the area on University Ave., police added.No further information was immediately available. 596

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One driver was arrested after video of a road rage incident in Oceanside made its way into CHP's hands.Two drivers, one in a gray Ford Explorer and the other in a gray BMW convertible, were involved in the February 15 incident on eastbound State Route 78 in Oceanside, according to California Highway Patrol officers.Officers responded to a report of a non-injury, hit-and-run collision just before 4:30 p.m. near the College Blvd. exit. Officers arrived and found the Explorer on its side on the center median while the BMW reportedly fled.RELATED: Road Rage Crisis: Violence on the RiseWhile investigating, officers were made aware of a video recorded by a witness.The video showed the driver of the BMW, identified as 33-year-old Kevin McCall, left his vehicle to berate the driver of the Explorer, identified as 23-year-old Andrew Branch, who was still inside his vehicle, according to CHP.Officers said McCall spit at Branch before returning to his BMW. Branch is then seen driving into the center median and accelerating into the BMW, narrowly missing McCall.Sideswiping the BMW caused the Explorer to overturn onto its side. McCall then drove away, officers said."It was pretty shocking. It was pretty shocking," said CHP Officer Mark Latulippe.
