SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - In light of the governor's directive on limiting large gatherings out of coronavirus concerns, the San Diego Half Marathon announced on Thursday that this Sunday's event will be "virtual" only. While many runners support the decision to cancel the San Diego Half Marathon, they're upset that it doesn't appear there will be any refunds.Organizers sent 10News a statement that reads in part, "By their very nature, the cost of events like ours are front loaded and [non-recoupable], which is why we do not have a refund or deferral policy. We are ready to go," said Jim Kidrick, President of the San Diego Air & Space Museum.Among the precautions: masks, social distancing, and fewer people. The museum will be at operating at 30% visitor capacity. You'll see hand sanitizer everywhere and a lot of plexiglass when interacting with staff."We want to make sure guests not just visually feel good, but also feel good as they experience the Air & Space Museum," said Kidrick.One of the big challenges for any museum will be visitor interactions with exhibits and touchscreens. Here, each visitor will be handed a stylus pen."Any moment with interactivity where they would normally push with their finger, they can push with their stylus," said Kidrick.One precaution visitors won't see will happen at the staff entrance. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It’s a great time to buy a used car. “These deals are once in a lifetime,” said Ivan Drury, a used car expert with Edmunds. Amid the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic, used car prices have been decreasing. According to Bloomberg News, the average price of a used car fell 11.4% from March to April. Drury predicts those prices could continue to fall, as desperate rental car companies start to offload unused inventory. Hertz, which filed for bankruptcy on Friday, has a fleet of about 500,000 vehicles. It’s unclear what their plan is for them, but Drury suspects they will only keep enough to maintain a basic level of service. “That influx of used vehicles will have a dramatic impact on price,” he said. Adding to the supply of used cars, Drury predicts that some drivers who have leased cars will hold on to them for a few more months rather than trade them in. But in several months to a year, he expects that could lead to another flood of used vehicles. “You kind of have a perfect storm for used car values to drop even further,” said Drury. 1090

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Locally and nationally, the calls are growing louder for some immigrant detainees to be released. In 2018, Kazakhstan native Satbay Kydyrali, 31, made his way to a local border crossing "He crossed border, turned himself in and asked for asylum," said Almas Irgebayev, Kydyrali's brother.Irgebayev says the asylum claim was denied and is now under appeal, a decision that could be years away. Meanwhile his brother continues to being held at Otay Mesa Detention Center. "Last three days, I was just crying when I think about him," said Irgebayev.Irgebayev says his brother is coughing, and in a cell with 7 other men. They are less than two feet apart, and most of the other men are also coughing. His brother told him none of the staff is wearing masks, and the detainees clean their own cell twice a day. The two brothers talk on the phone every day."He says that he wants to get out. I was crying on the phone. I heard him crying as well," said Irgebayev.Irgebayev is fearful because his brother is at-risk. He contracted tuberculosis as a child and has developed chronic breathing issues."I'm in a panic. I am feeling very bad, because I'm helpless," said Irgebayev. Similar sentiments were on display at a socially distant, vehicle protest near the federal courthouse downtown. Immigrant advocates were asking for at-risk detainees to be released. On the same day, members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus called on Homeland Security officials to release low-priority detainees.In a statement, a DHS spokesperson says they're following CDC guidelines for disease monitoring and management protocols.' Irgabayev believes that statement doesn't reflect reality."I'm just afraid he is going to die in there," said Irgebayev.Irgabayev says his brother is in day three of a hunger strike protesting the conditions. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Mixed Martial Arts fighter, Dean "The Boogeyman" Lister is asking the public to help him find a man he found inside his apartment. Lister, a Jiu Jitsu champion, has taken down opponents around the world - but he never expected a fight in his home. "I thought somebody was working in the apartment," he said, describing the man as covered in tattoos and wearing only a pair of boxers.Lister said the man wasn't making any sense, and soon Lister started to record him. In the video the man is heard saying that he went into the apartment because he thought it was a church. When the man realized that he was being record, Lister said he reached for a hammer - a moment that can be seen just before the video ends. Lister is a gun owner, and said he reached for his weapon when the stranger threatened him. At that point, the man got scared and Lister let him escape out the same window he broke in through. When police arrived, the man was gone. "I'm not trying to sound like any kind of saint," Lister said. "But whatever kind of money I lost, maybe it's not worth someone dying."Lister posted the video on Youtube and shared it with 10News in hopes that someone would recognize the intruder. "Hopefully he turns his life around," Lister said.   1327
