It is not news that Bugatti makes very expensive automobiles. A Bugatti Chiron, the brand's basic model, costs about million. Bugatti's latest creation, though, sets a new bar in price and exclusivity. Bugatti's La Voiture Noire cost €16.7 million, or almost million, including taxes. Before taxes, the car cost .5 million.According to Bugatti, La Voiture Noire is the most expensive new car ever sold and only one will be made. Bugatti did not reveal the identity of the buyer. It is someone with an enormous attachment to the Bugatti brand, the automaker said. It's also clearly someone with immense financial resources.Bugatti's new La Voiture Noire is designed to recall the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic of the 1930s. Only four of those cars were made and, today, they're among the most valuable cars in the world. They can be worth more than million, according to Hagerty Insurance, a company that tracks collector car values. One of those cars became known as "La Voiture Noire" which means simply, the black car. Only three are known to survive. The fourth seems to have disappeared shortly before the German invasion of France during World War II. Its whereabouts remain unknown. The Type 57 SC Atlantic was designed by Jean Bugatti, son of Bugatti founder Ettore Bugatti, at a time when the bodies for most high-end cars were created by separate body makers rather than by the automobile companies themselves. 1443

Kids can set their expectations pretty high when it comes to Christmas presents. One father says his 10-year-old daughter¡¯s wish list included an iPhone 11, AirPods, MacBook Air, and ,000 cash. To avoid going broke or disappointing your kids, parenting experts say it¡¯s important to manage children¡¯s expectations before the holidays roll around. ¡°If you have an entire list of big-ticket items, it might be clues that it¡¯s time to have a conversation about budgeting and about the value of money right and maybe start implementing some chores,¡± said certified parenting coach Carrington Cunnington. Cunnington says gift lists are a great tool especially for distant relatives, but children can be encouraged to think about more than just what they want.¡°I suggest my kids think about how could this exchange bring you and the person who you're exchanging with, how could it bring you closer together,¡± said Cunnington. Cunnington says it's also good to encourage your child to be a gift giver from an early age. Also, get them thinking about incorporating experiences instead of just items.¡°More people will remember special experiences than they will remember what was under the tree when they were 6 or 8 or 10 years old,¡± said Cunnington. Another approach suggested by a parenting support group is Want-Need-Wear-Read. Each kid gets one thing they want, one thing they need, something to wear and something to read. 1433
¡¡¡¡In an emotional scene that played out on CNN Sunday evening, Chief Medaria Arradondo of the Minneapolis Police told George Floyd¡¯s family that all four officers involved in Floyd¡¯s death are ¡°complicit¡± in his death. While members of Floyd¡¯s family listened in live, the family wanted to know what should be done with the officers who watched as Derek Chauvin held a knee to Floyd¡¯s neck for nearly nine minutes. Moments after Floyd's arrest, Floyd was pronounced dead at a Minneapolis hospital. Standing among those paying tribute to Floyd in Minneapolis Sunday evening, Arradondo removed his hat as he addressed the Floyd family directly for the first time since last week¡¯s tragedy. Chauvin was charged with murder earlier this week. "To the Floyd family: being silent or not intervening to me you're complicit. So I don't see a level of distinction any different,¡± Arradondo said. ¡°So obviously the charging and those decisions will have to come through our County Attorney's office. Certainly the FBI is investigating that. But to the Floyd family, I want you to know that my decision to fire all four officers was not based on some sort of hierarchy. Mr. Floyd died in our hands.¡±Arradondo later added, "Silence and inaction, you're complicit. You're complicit. If there were one solitary voice, it would have intervened and acted -- that's what I would have hoped. Unfortunately, that did not occur."The moment can be watched below. 1451
