(KGTV) - The San Bruno Police Department has identified the YouTube shooter as 39-year-old Nasim Najafi Aghdam. Aghdam reportedly drove to YouTube headquarters from San Diego, KRON reported Tuesday evening. Aghdam was a YouTube user who has a website with a manifesto that targets the platform for censorship and demonization of her content, according to ABC7. Law enforcement officials said Aghdam had previous addresses in San Diego and Riverside Counties and lived in a home in Menifee, Calif. with her parents. RELATED:  610

SAN DIEGO — Some parents are keeping their children out of school Tuesday to protest the San Diego Unified School District’s sex education curriculum.A group of parents say the district’s Sexual Health Education Program (SHEP) is too graphic and not age-appropriate for their students, and they are urging district officials to eliminate the program.The parents have taken their concerns to the district’s School Board, but they said board members refuse to replace the curriculum.District officials said students can opt out of the course, but parents want the images they consider graphic gone.Ashley Bever, a substitute teacher who is organizing the one-day protest, said she was surprised to see all of the materials student had access to.“I thought a 6th grade teacher did not write this. Where it did come from? Why is it so explicit? SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 22-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Mission Valley West, authorities said this morning.The crash occurred in the 6700 block of Friars Road at 5 p.m. Friday, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The man was driving a 2014 Chevy Malibu and making a left turn onto Friars Road from his apartment complex when a 33-year-old woman driving a 2020 Tesla Model Y crashed into the Malibu. The man sustained fatal injuries and his 22-year-old wife, who was a passenger in the car, sustained minor injuries, Heims said.No other injuries were reported. SAN DIEGO (CNS & KGTV) -  Police believe a woman who crashed her car into a home in Talmadge  was intoxicated at the time.The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on Winona Avenue near Lucille Drive, according to San Diego police.A 23-year-old woman was driving her 2017 Honda on Winona Avenue at a high speed when she veered off the road and ran into the corner of a nearby home, according to San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims. The woman suffered serious head injuries and fractures to her right leg, and had to be taken to a hospital.No one in the home was injured.Police processed the driver for allegedly driving under the influence, Heims said.A building engineer was called in to assess structure damage, and the Red Cross helped with two residents displaced by the crash, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesman Jose Ysea said. 880

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Marine Corps prosecutors were meeting Tuesday to try and save its cases against 13 Marines accused of crimes tied to a human smuggling and drug investigation after a military judge ruled it was illegal to make the videotaped arrests made during a battalion formation while leaders called them “a cancer” and “bad Marines.”Maj. Kendra Motz said prosecutors at Marine Corps Camp Pendleton were exploring their options, but she did not know what they were considering.The judge, Marine Col. Stephen Keane, gave prosecutors until Nov. 25 to offer a way to remedy the situation.When ruling Friday, Keane agreed with defense attorneys that commanders violated the rights of the accused when they pulled the Marines out of a morning battalion formation of 800 troops at Camp Pendleton July 25 and accused them of the crimes in front of their unit, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.The actions amounted to unlawful command influence, Keane said. That is when commanders use their positions of power to affect a case and compromise the ability for a fair trial.If the prosecution cannot remedy the situation, the court would be left with only one option: dismissing the charges, he said.Defense attorneys for some of the Marines have asked for charges to be dismissed. They say the public display would make it difficult to find an impartial jury pool and guarantee a fair trial.The Marine Corps filmed the arrests. The video was obtained by the San Diego Union-Tribune.The Marine Corps said in a statement when the newspaper obtained the video that it was made to document the arrest “in an unbiased, non-editorialized manner.”The video is for official use only and would not be released, Motz said.
