SHANGHAI, Nov.16 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama said here Monday the United States has a positive, constructive and comprehensive relationship with China.     Obama made the remarks during a dialogue with Chinese youth in China's economic hub Shanghai. COPENHAGEN, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here Wednesday evening for the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference.     Wen told reporters aboard his special plane that his attendance at the meeting aims to show the great importance the Chinese government and people attach to climate change and to assert their sincerity and determination to work with the international community to meet this global challenge. Wen Jiabao arrived here Wednesday evening for the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference. The Copenhagen climate conference is now in its final and critical stage, Wen said, adding that he will closely communicate and coordinate with various parties and deliver a speech outlining China's stance on climate change.     "I hope the meeting, with joint efforts made by various parties, will yield fair, reasonable, balanced and achievable results," he said.     During his stay in the Danish capital, Wen is scheduled to meet with some foreign leaders on the sidelines of the climate summit.     "Wen's trip to Copenhagen will inject a new momentum into the climate change talks and exert positive and important impacts for future international cooperation," Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Guangya told a press conference on Dec. 10.     The UN Climate Change Conference, which opened on Dec. 7, is to end Friday in Copenhagen. It aims to map out a comprehensive international arrangement for the fight against climate change over the period 2012-2020.

URUMQI, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Police in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwest China, has stepped up crackdown on criminal activities to safeguard stability and public security.     The anti-crime action will be carried out across the region from the beginning of November to the end of the year, said a spokesman for the regional public security bureau Monday.     Local police will continue manhunt to nab suspects in connection with the July 5 riot in Urumqi, the regional capital. Meanwhile police will keep a close eye on clues and cases involving terrorism and explosions, said the spokesman.     The strike also targets criminal activities involving infringement of finance and properties and criminal activities threatening public security, the spokesman said.

CAIRO, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here Friday, starting a two-day official visit to Egypt preceding a top-level review of action to build China-Africa cooperation.     Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef received Wen at the airport.     During his visit, Wen is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and hold talks with Nazef. He will also meet with Arab League chief Amr Mussa, and deliver a speech at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.     This is Wen's second official visit to Egypt. The first was in 2006, which marked the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomaticties between China and Egypt. BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States are committed to working together and with other countries for a successful outcome at Copenhagen summit next month, said a joint statement issued here Tuesday after talks between Chinese President Hu Jintao and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama.     The two sides have held a constructive and productive dialogue on the issue and maintained that international cooperation is indispensible in dealing with climate change, which poses one of the greatest challenge of the time, the statement said.     Both sides concede that transition to a low-carbon economy is an opportunity to promote continued economic growth and sustainable development in all countries.     Regarding the upcoming Copenhagen summit, the two countries expressed their willingness to strive for an agreed outcome based on the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities.     "The two sides, consistent with their national circumstances, resolve to take significant mitigation actions and recognized the important role that their countries play in promoting a sustainable outcome that will strengthen the world's ability to combat climate change," said the statement.     The two countries also agreed that the outcome should include the emission reduction targets of developed countries and nationally appropriate mitigation actions of developing countries, adding that it should also substantially scale up financial assistance to developing countries, promote technology development, dissemination and transfer, and pay particular attention to the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable countries to adapt to climate change.
