"When we are serving or giving clothes to people who don't have much it just makes us feel better because giving is better than receiving," said Mary. Reverend Curtis Bryant of Greater Heights Missionary Baptist Church is only too glad for the help. His neighborhood there at 14th Avenue North and Cockrill Street was hard hit by the tornadoes, and friends are hurting.Reverend Bryant turned his church into a supply depot and rest stop for volunteers and storm victims alike. "We're getting what we need: gasoline, hot dogs, hamburgers and more love," said Bryant. He said volunteers topped out at over one-thousand last week, but things have improved dramatically. Now the volunteer army is down to three-hundred, many of them youngsters."It's sad how much people in our community have lost. Like their homes and everything they own," fifth grader Patrick Pritchartt said.For the students, it's like a field trip into the real world, a chance to help and learn."They are getting a first hand knowledge of what it means to serve others," Reverend Bryant said. With the legalization of marijuana in Nevada, some businesses are opting not to test potential employees for pot.Caesars Entertainment is the latest company on the Las Vegas Strip to drop marijuana drug testing.The Associated Press reported that some hotels are skipping the test because managers are having a tough time finding workers who don't use marijuana.A spokesperson for Caesars says that they only drug test employees if they have a reason to believe they've used drugs.MGM Resorts say they are still issuing pre-employment marijuana test as a part of their hiring process.  597

on Interstate 41/94 killed two semi truck drivers and seriously injured two other people.Racine County Sheriff Chris Schmaling said as a semi truck heading south on the interstate tried to change lanes they hit a construction barrier that pushed the median into the northbound lanes.Three other passenger vehicles heading north collided as a result. Schmaling said a second semi truck heading north tried to avoid the collision causing it to veer off the road and crashed before bursting into flames.The sheriff said they received several 911 calls reporting the crash and explosions. He attributed the explosion sounds to tires in the crash heating up then blowing up."In my 24 years on this job and this is the worst accident I’ve ever been a part of," said Schmaling.The crash shut down I-94 and frontage roads to traffic for several hours causing lenthy back ups. The sheriff said emergency responders had difficulty getting to the scene.Schmaling urged drivers to be cautious driving in extreme construction zones, adding a small mistake can have a devastating impact."These are interstate speeds were talking about and ultimately it cost him his life and the life of another human being, and I hope and pray that the lives of the others are right now in the hospital getting care don’t lose their lives as well. Wreckage from the USS Lexington -- a US aircraft carrier sunk by the Japanese during World War II -- has been discovered 500 miles off the Australian coast by a team of explorers led by billionaire Paul Allen, the Microsoft co-founder announced on Monday.One of the first US aircraft carriers ever built, the vessel dubbed "Lady Lex" was located at the bottom of the Coral Sea -- nearly two miles below the surface -- by the expedition crew of Research Vessel Petrel on Sunday, Allen said.The Lexington was lost in May 1942 along with 216 of its crew and 35 aircraft during what is considered the first carrier battle in history -- the Battle of the Coral Sea."To pay tribute to the USS Lexington and the brave men that served on her is an honor," Allen said in a statement.
