The National Transportation Safety Board released a report Wednesday stating that the pilots were likely at fault with the August 2019 plane crash involving former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family in Tennessee.The report stated that the pilot's approaching the runway at Elizabethton Municipal Airport too fast and the flight crew's decision not to abort the landing was the likely cause of the crash.The plane then bounce landed, causing a landing gear to collapse, and the pilots losing control of the airplane."Contributing to the accident was the pilot's failure to deploy the speedbrakes during the initial touchdown, which may have prevented the runway excursion, and the pilot's attempt to go around after deployment of the thrust reversers," the report said.Earnhardt's wife and child were also onboard the plane when it crashed.The agency said the pilot and co-pilot were not injured, and the three passengers sustained minor injuries.You can read the full report below: NTSB Earnhardt Jr. Report by Sarah Dewberry on Scribd 1058

The mother of a Florida child who was punched in the face by an adult is wondering why the man was not arrested. “He was screaming at us, cursing at us, calling us the 'n-word' and he came down to the middle of his yard, and I was like 'who are you talking too,' and he said 'come within arm's reach and I'll show you who I'm talking to,'" said Malikai Villatte, the 12-year-old boy who was punched.  A picture of Malikai after the incident showed his two front teeth were knocked out. The young boy also received stitches to heal a gash on his mouth. “When I realized my teeth were dangling in my mouth it was kind of shocking, I didn't know what was going on," Malikai said. “It was like a nightmare, I just knew I had to get there and I had to get there fast," said Malikai's mother Brittany Graham. His parents are upset because the man who punched Malikai was not arrested. Lataevion Graham, 13, says he witnessed the incident and claims Cerfalo spat on them after punching Malikai. Graham's father says he wants justice for the children. “Where it is okay for an adult to take the law into their own hands, and to strike a kid hard enough to knock out his teeth. Where is that acceptable, in what country is that acceptable?" said Larry Graham. According to a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the man who punched Malikai was 27-year-old Vincent Cerfalo.“Originally this is where the altercation took place, right here," Cerfalo said.“I told them to back off and if they come on my property I'm going to defend myself. They said, 'you won't hit us, you won't hit us,' and they started to surround me," said Cerfalo. He says it all started when he yelled at the kids to get out of the road because they were blocking traffic.A cellphone video captured the moments after Malikai was punched. Cerfalo claims he was acting in self defense.“He touched me and I lifted my hand out, and I ended up hitting him. It was not my intention to hit anybody that hard, it was not my intention to knock teeth out or do harm, or cause any kind of trouble,” Cerfalo said.The children say no one touched Cerfalo at any time during the incident. Cerfalo says he never expected things to escalate to violence. He now plans to press charges against 12-year-old Malikai for assault, which the child’s parents can’t understand. “He's not going to jail, nothing is happening to him and he's basically getting away with it right now," Malikai said.“I want the man in jail," said Brittany Graham.  The case has been sent to the state attorney’s office, which will determine if a summons will be issued to Malikai for assault.  2750

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Thursday that an ongoing, multi-year conversation with groups of people from "diverse American Indian backgrounds and experiences" has resulted in several changes that will be implemented this season at Arrowhead Stadium.Under the Chiefs' new policy, fans will be prohibited from wearing headdresses, which the team previously only discouraged, and also will be barred from wearing face paintings that reference or “appropriate” American Indian cultures.Some fans said the changes couldn't have come soon enough."It’s been a long time coming to make some change there," Danny Sandage said. "I think change needs to occur."Most fans aren't surprised by the Chiefs' decision."I think we have to be more mindful about images that can be offensive to people," Summer Friedman said.Nor do they think it will detract from the Arrowhead experience."I know people are very rah-rah about the whole costume, the get-up and everything like that," Jean-Luc Monroe. "But to be honest with you, I'm just there to enjoy football. The National Hurricane Center said Friday night it now expects Tropical Storm Hanna to strengthen into a hurricane by the time it makes landfall on the Texas coast tomorrow.In response, the National Hurricane Center has issued hurricane warnings for sections of the Texas coast. Tropical storm warnings also remain in effect for parts of the Texas coast.The hurricane warning extends from Fort Mansfield, Texas, to Mesquite Bay, Texas.The National Hurricane Center said that Hanna has gained strength on Friday as it makes it approach to the Texas coast. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for sections of the Gulf Coast as Louisiana and Texas prepares for a second tropical system this week.Tropical Storm Laura, which had top winds of 65 MPH as of 11 p.m. ET Monday, is expected to turn into the Gulf of Mexico and strengthen into a hurricane. The potential hurricane is expected to hit either the Texas or Louisiana coast late Wednesday.A hurricane watch is in effect from Port Bolivar, Texas, to west of Morgan City, Louisiana. A tropical storm watch is in effect from south of Port Bolivar, Texas, to San Luis Pass, Texas, and from Morgan City, Louisiana to the Mouth of the Mississippi River.As of Monday morning, Laura was dumping heavy rain on both Cuba and Jamaica. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storms could cause mudslides and urban flash floods on the islands.Laura has already caused the deaths of at least 11 people in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, while knocking out power and causing flooding Sunday.Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Marco, made landfall along the Louisiana coast Monday evening, according to the National Hurricane Center, as a minimal tropical storm. It weakened from hurricane all the way to a depression on Monday. All tropical storm warnings have been dropped in associated with Marco.Marco was recording maximum sustained winds of 35 mph as of late Monday evening.
