Participants will receive 0 for rifles, shotguns and hand guns and 0 for assault weapons, “no questions asked.”There is a limit of two gift cards per vehicle and authorities say all weapons must be operational. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The White House confirmed Tuesday that it is reviewing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.It comes as the Department of Homeland Security announced changes to the program that gives protection to some undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children, guarding them against deportation.In a news release, DHS announced the following changes to the DACA program:Reject all initial requests for DACA and associated applications for Employment Authorization Documents;Reject new and pending requests for advanced parole absent exceptional circumstances; and,Limit the period of renewed deferred action granted pursuant to the DACA policy after the issuance of this memorandum to one year.Last month, the Supreme Court blocked an attempt by the Trump Administration to end DACA altogether.DACA supporters are expected to go to court to stop the changes announced Tuesday. 925
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Unified School District and School Board President Kevin Beiser are holding a news conference Wednesday to discuss student safety in light of the Parkland shootings.The school officials will explain the district's plan to address the nationwide student-led walkout to protest government inaction to curb gun violence. President Beiser will also discuss a resolution he brought forth at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting demanding action from state and federal officials to reduce access to certain firearms. During the news conference, officials asked lawmakers in Sacramento to implement a 10 percent tax on firearms in California to help fund school safety programs. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – The San Diego Padres are heading to the postseason, and while fans can’t attend games at Petco Park, the team is giving the Friar Faithful a chance to cheer them on at the ballpark while in their cars.The Padres Postseason Watch Party will take place during next week’s Wild Card round, with the drive-in event happening in Petco Park’s Lexus Premier Lot on K Street, off 14th Street.RVs and campers will not be allowed at the watch party.The games will be shown on three separate large LED video screens, and fans at the event will be able to choose from different restaurant partners -- depending on the game -- when it comes to the ballpark eats.
