(CNN) -- "Saved by the Bell" may be coming back.Mario Lopez, who played the hunky AC Slater on the show, admits there have been talks about a reboot of the hit 90s American sitcom, but that obviously, the cast would be long gone from high school.Speaking at Fan EXPO Canada, Lopez reportedly explained the age issue."Obviously we couldn't be in high school still, so you'd have to be creative with the premise. But it's fun to think about. And who knows? You never say never," he said.Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who played the popular Zack Morris, added: "There's talks, there's always talks. I just heard recently there's talks.""We know about it. All three of us know about it, this person that's going to tackle it," he added.Elizabeth Berkley, who played Jessie Spano on the series, said if there was a reunion, it "has to be right."Lopez added that while everyone is up for it, no storyline has been finalized."Not yet," he said.In April, Lopez, Gosselaar and Berkley celebrated the show's 30th anniversary with a cast dinner along with co-stars Tiffani Thiessen, who played everyone's dream girl Kelly Kapowski, and actor Dennis Haskins, who played Principal Richard Belding. 1184
(CNN) -- Costco has built a cult following in the United States — now it's China's turn. The country's first Costco store is so popular that it had to shut down early on its first day because of too many shoppers. The retailer opened its first physical outlet in Shanghai on Tuesday morning, and it quickly got too crowded to stay open."The store has been clogged up with crowds," Costco said in a text message alert to its members in China. "To provide you with better shopping experience, Costco will suspend business in the afternoon. Please don't come."Police were deployed to restore order and manage traffic jams around the store, with law enforcement urging people to remain calm."For your safety, we hope citizens who want to go to Costco can maintain a rational attitude about consumption and avoid going out during rush hours. Those who have already gone there, you must follow orders," the Shanghai police said in a statement on its verified account on Chinese social network Weibo. The photos posted by police with the statement included one of a sign Costco put up outside the store, which read: "The parking lot is full. It takes three hours to wait."The company even issued an apology on social media for Chinese customers Wednesday, adding that it will put a cap on the number of customers allowed in the store to 2,000 and work with local police to "lessen the disturbance" to its neighbors. The road aheadWhile Costco has had an online presence in China for five years through a partnership with Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba, the new brick-and-mortar store in Shanghai marks a significant investment.Costco's annual membership program, which accounts for the bulk of its profit, is also cheaper in China — it costs 299 yuan () compared to in the United States. But despite the early buzz around its Shanghai store, the US retailer will have to prove it can stick around for the long haul. It has to contend not only with global rivals like Walmart and big Chinese players like Alibaba and JD.com, but also with China's rapid economic changes and its growing online retail industry."There is big market potential for Costco in China, as its value for money strategy is attractive to many middle-class consumers," said Michelle Huang, an analyst at Rabobank in Shanghai."Whether Costco can succeed in the long term depends how well it can adapt to China's dynamic retail landscape," she added.Day one hypeWhile there are challenges on the horizon, the early hype around China's Costco stores is very real.Echo Zhou, a 28-year-old financial professional in Shanghai, said she arrived at 9:10 a.m., but didn't make it to the parking lot until an hour later and finally got into the store around 11 a.m."The surrounding roads were paralyzed. The highway nearby was also congested," she said."By the time I got in, there were crowds of old people who had already wiped out some shelves."Zhou said she decided to leave without buying anything as there was little room for shoppers inside the store, which was packed with crowds and the big shopping carts."I will give it another chance three months later as I've got the membership," she added. 3169

OCEANSIDE (CNS) - An electronic device that can bring down drone aircraft, presumably as they interfere with emergency firefighting planes and police helicopters, has been obtained by Oceanside police, it was reported Saturday.Oceanside police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were among the first police agencies to acquire a "Drone Killer" from IXI Technology, a Yorba Linda company that supplies electronic equipment to the U.S. armed forces, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Saturday. Deputies deployed the anti-drone device at the 2017 Rose Parade.IXI Technology agreed to donate the ,000 drone-incapacitating weapon to Oceanside police and made a presentation to the Oceanside City Council on March 28, the Union-Tribune reported."The purpose is primarily for emergency situations," Oceanside police Lt. Aaron Doyle told the newspaper. "It won't be used when someone complains about a neighbor flying a drone. It's pretty much for a life-or-death situation, to save lives."Drones can force authorities to ground air operations to avoid collisions. That's what happened in December during the Lilac fire, when aerial firefighting had to be called off for more than an hour due to a drone in the area. The device can be pointed at a drone in the air and will cut off communication between it and its operator, the Union-Tribune reported. A drone targeted by the device will either hover in place, return to the place it was launched or simply land, depending on its programming. The device can disable most drone models, IXI Technology's Andy Morabe told the Union-Tribune. When the drone killer encounter's a drone it can't stop, the company plans to rewrite software to remedy the problem within days, Morabe said. 1754

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) -- A North County family has a message for a prankster who lit a firework on their doorstep. The Bennetts family's security video caught what appeared to be a teenager lighting a firework and setting it down on the porch of their San Marcos home last Friday night. The teen is then seen ringing the doorbell before running off. “I don’t know exactly what kind of firework it was. But it made a pretty big boom,” homeowner Melanie Bennetts said. She said there was a bench with pillows on their porch that could have caught on fire. Her husband was home at the time but didn’t answer the door. The Bennetts’ have two teenagers, but they did not recognize the young man in the security video. Bennetts said kids have egged and toilet-papered their house in the past. She doesn’t make a big deal about it because she understands kids will be kids. But in this case, she hopes kids and parents take note of the incident, and that it becomes a lesson that some actions could have serious consequences. “We live in Southern California where fire is not a joke,” she said. 1104
