BYD Motors, a US subsidiary of China's automaker BYD Company Ltd, announced on Wednesday a joint venture to launch the first electric bus leasing program of its kind in the United States.
Based on a layout released by the CIIE Bureau on Jan 9 to mark the 300-day countdown for the trade show, the event's business exhibition section will feature seven categories as well as an outdoor exhibition area to accommodate more exhibitors. The total area for this section will be larger than the first.
BYD's electric buses currently operate on Denver's iconic 16th street mall "and, as such, must be dependable, comfortable and attractive. Our fleet of BYD buses achieves all of those objectives," Steve Gieske, general superintendent of maintenance, Regional Transportation District (Denver, Colorado) said in a statement. "BYD has been a good partner and their buses are operating as promised."
Backed by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, the Beijing-based company is affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, or CAS, and has focused on advanced chips to power deep learning computation.
