CLEVELAND — Imagine feeding your dog a food that's slowly taking years of their life. Most pet owners wouldn't think of such a thing, but it's happening all over the country.Back in November, WEWS 213

DETROIT — In September 2017, Phil Corsi went to the doctor complaining about pain after eating. He got a diagnosis he never expected. “I had a large lymphoma that had become cancerous,” Phil said. His days became filled with doctor’s appointments and chemotherapy treatments. Phil had no family history of cancer and had lived a healthy active life. He and his wife, Kim Corsi, say the diagnosis didn’t make sense. Then he heard there was an alleged link between Roundup weed killer’s chemical glyphosate and non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Juries, after looking at evidence, had delivered multi-billion dollar verdicts to several cancer victims. “There are no warning labels on it and the chemical that has been linked to B-cell lymphoma is still in that product,” Kim said.Phil says for decades he used Roundup multiple times a week to kill weeds in his yard — and even in his neighbors’ yards.“There should be some kind of warning on this for folks so people aren’t going through the same thing,” Phil said.“We wouldn’t use it. If we would have known that, he wouldn’t have bought it,” Kim added. It raises the question: should you be worried? For years, farms have used plants genetically modified to survive Roundup. It allowed farmers to soak their entire fields with the weed killer to get rid of weeds. Now Roundup has been detected in the food we eat. Plus, it is still being sold to control weeds in your yard. “You can’t make sense out of science when there are proprietary interests,” said Faye Hansen, an associate professor of biology at Oakland University. 1576

DETROIT — It’s a video of the unknown that is posing many questions: What is it? Is it real? And what is it doing there?A family in Highland, Michigan, believes their house is haunted and what's even more disturbing is that whatever is haunting the home is doing harm to their little girl.Heather Brough and Joshua Higgins say they couldn't believe what they saw on their nanny cam."It’s almost like she sees something that we don’t," Brough said. It’s an image she and Higgins say is haunting their home."It was chilling," Higgins said. "It was literally a chill down your spine, like that 'what if' factor — is this what I just saw?"Caught on the couple's nanny cam video a few weeks ago is what appears to be something moving in front of the baby crib. The couple says it appears to be a ghost."I freaked out," Brough said. "I stopped what I was doing and I ran upstairs and grabbed my daughter."She says this so-called ghost scratched her daughter Lily and attacked her too."It scares us that it could do something else," Brough said. "I mean, there was a morning I woke up and I felt like someone’s hands were around my neck."A team of paranormal investigators came in and tried to answer some of the couple's questions and concerns. Higgins' father Jim says it may be someone who lived in this house before."The gentleman that lived here originally committed suicide apparently by jumping out this window, which is one story down," said Joshua's father, Jim Higgins, while recalling a story he was told about the home. The couple says they don’t know why this so-called ghost is targeting them, but say they don’t want any part of it."It’s not physically just going after her, it feels like it’s going after myself too," Brough said."I couldn’t get an explanation out of it, so it’s freaky is what it is," Higgins said. The couple says for now they are staying at the home in a room together with Lily until they have enough money to move. 1956

Domino's Pizza announced on Monday that it is partnering with robotics company Nuro to create a pizza delivery vehicle that is autonomous. The unmaned vehicle known as R2 will begin delivering pizzas later this year as part of a test. Domino's said it is rolling out the technology at select locations in the Houston area. Customers in the select areas will be given the option of having their pizza delivered by R2. They will then be given a pin to unlock the pizza from a compartment. Customers can also track the location of the R2 using Domino's smartphone app. "We are always looking for new ways to innovate and evolve the delivery experience for our customers," said Kevin Vasconi, Domino's executive vice president and chief information officer. "Nuro's vehicles are specially designed to optimize the food delivery experience, which makes them a valuable partner in our autonomous vehicle journey. The opportunity to bring our customers the choice of an unmanned delivery experience, and our operators an additional delivery solution during a busy store rush, is an important part of our autonomous vehicle testing."Nuro said it has raised more than billion from investors to deliver goods from a number of local businesses, including grocery stores, restaurants and dry cleaners. 1305

COOLIDGE, Arizona — The states neighboring Mexico are looking at options, along with the federal government, on how to build a fence or wall along the border.Build 218 miles of border fence with access roads for the Border Patrol. Incorporate high-tech surveillance and facial recognition cameras. Promise the job will be completed in a year, at a cost of .285 billion dollars. That bold sales pitch brought members of Congress from nine states to Coolidge, Airzona on Tuesday."When they said they had secured a bond for the full amount of the contract to build the 220 some odd miles in a year on budget, on time, that's got to be attractive does it not?" said East Valley Congressman Andy Biggs. Biggs arranged an up close look at how Fisher proposes to install the wall along four sections of the border: 42 miles near Yuma, 69 miles near El Paso, Texas, 16 miles near El Centro, California and the longest stretch 91-miles south of Tucson. "I want to show we're not just building a barrier. We're building infrastructure for Border Patrol Agents," said Fisher President and CEO Tommy Fisher. Fisher says his team can dig a trench insert the iron-steel fence and fill in the base with concrete at a rate of a mile a day. "I am impressed," Congressman Biggs said, "it seems a pretty efficient way to do it."Fisher's original bid was rejected because the company said it was penalized for not doing any current work on the border. The demonstration was an attempt to build support in Congress that it should be reconsidered. The members who came to Coolidge were all Republicans. No Democrats showed. They were invited Congressman Biggs said, "I would have loved for them to come," Biggs said, "Even if they walked away feeling different about things than I do, I will still like them to see this." Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, who represents the West Valley and is a member of the Homeland Security Committee said, "on the border wall they will not give at all. They don't want any money coming to a border fence or border wall. That's unfortunate. It's part of the solution."Congressman Biggs and Congresswoman Lesko say there is money available from drug interdiction, asset forfeiture, and the federal budget which can be used to fund border wall construction while the courts decide whether the President's Emergency Declaration is legal. Whether Fisher Industries gets a second chance to build it is still to be determined. 2444
