SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Authorities have identified the pilot killed in a plane crash in the Kearny Mesa area Wednesday morning as 61-year-old Dr. John Serocki. According to authorities, just after 6:30 a.m., a Cirrus SR22T crashed nose-first in a construction site in the 4400 block of Ruffin Road, blocks away from Montgomery Field.San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials confirmed Serocki, who was the plane's lone occupant, died in the crash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — As the U.S. prepares for the possibility of a coronavirus vaccine, San Diego County public health officials detailed what groups will see the vaccine first.San Diego County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten said the state anticipates receiving 327,000 doses in mid-December, with about 28,000 doses heading to San Diego County.According to the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the phases for vaccine distribution will follow:Phase 1A: Healthcare personnel, nursing home residents, nursing home employeesPhase 1B: People with underlying medical conditionsPhase 2: Teachers, school staff, child care workers, food supply chain workers; Critical workers in industries essential to the function of society; People in and staff working at correctional facilities; All older adults not in Phase 1Phase 3: Children and young adults 30 and younger, critical workers not in Phase 1 or 2Phase 4: Everyone else living in the U.S.Wooten added that the county's first round of vaccines will have to go toward Phase 1A, and that there are well over 28,000 people in the first phase alone."It's not just doctors and nurses, it's other healthcare personnel that might take food to individuals in their room that would have COVID-19 or maintenance or janitors," Wooten said of the Phase 1A group on Wednesday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - City of San Diego crews spent Monday preparing for the first significant rainfall since May. “With the first rains of the season in the forecast, crews are busy clearing critical drains, putting no parking signs along flood prone streets and installing backup generators for the City’s crucial storm water pump stations,” the City of San Diego posted on twitter. "During the rains, 15 crews from the City's Storm Patrol will be actively patrolling, monitoring areas in the city and responding to instances including temporary flooding and downed trees or tree branches," added city spokesman Anthony Santacroce.The heaviest rain is expected overnight Tuesday through the day Wednesday, according to 10News meterologist Megan Parry. In late November, Gallagher and three other SEALs were notified that a board of peers would determine whether or not they should remain SEALs, the Associated Press reported.
