Facebook says it will flag all ‘newsworthy’ posts from politicians that break its rules, including those from President Donald Trump. CEO Mark Zuckerberg had previously refused to take action against Trump posts suggesting that mail-in ballots will lead to voter fraud. Twitter, by contrast, slapped a “get the facts” label on them. Facebook is also banning false claims intended to discourage voting, such as stories about federal agents checking legal status at polling places. The company also said it is increasing its enforcement capacity to remove false claims about local polling conditions in the 72 hours before the U.S. election. 647

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — The sign out front Andre Villa's Escondido home says "heartbreak," though a visit brings anything but.The location of family gatherings and holidays is highlighted by one very obvious attraction: "The Heartbreak Hotel."Villa's yard and home are adorned with thousands of pieces of memorabilia spanning the 1950s. Everything from Big Boy, to Coca-Cola signs, a gumball machine, and much more. It's a beacon at 622 Utah Street that can’t be missed and is always seeing an addition.Even unwelcome ones.RELATED: Carlsbad Flower Fields explode with color in spring opening"The sign says 'The Heartbreak Hotel,'" Villa started. "I've had people looking for rooms in the middle of the night, knocking on the door."Villa recalled one couple who "walked right in" while they were watching television. But there are only three icons worthy of taking up so much space at Villa’s home: James Dean, Elvis, and Marilyn Monroe.Villa’s habit for collecting began as a child with James Dean magazines and growing to movie posters, but his love of cinema really catapulted his penchant for the icons.RELATED: Convoy Street rooster mural highlights efforts for future neighborhood archway"The love for movies grew more and more, and it just kind of helped out to put everything together as 'The Heartbreak Hotel' from the love of movies as kid," Villa said. "It's still out of control and I'm still having a great time."As years have gone by, he's continue to find things at retail and antique stores, even getting calls from sellers from time to time about a new item perfect for the home. And despite facing the obvious challenge of where to put everything, Villa’s habit doesn’t appear close to slowing — though, not for lack of trying. He's currently looking at making an inventory of everything he has and downsizing, just not all at once."I would hate to part with any of it right now, but I think it's time. But I'm not talking about tomorrow, and hopefully not for another five to 10 years, depending on what I got left in me here," Villa said. "I'd really hate to part with a lot of it ... I'd rather part with a little bit now, than to depart and have everyone scramble around figuring out what they're going to do with it."RELATED: Break from town: Where to take a day trip from San DiegoBut for family and friends who have lived with the vibrant showcase of decades past, the home will always be more than a pop culture time capsule. Behind the glitz and glam of statues portraying The Duke and The King, it's where his home has become a neighborhood icon.Villa invites people to take photos in front of his home, but asks that people let him know ahead of time if they plan to stop by or would like a look around. And he's more than happy with his home's continued popularity."I'm tickled to death with it right now," Villa said. 2856

ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) - Surveillance video catches a woman chatting and stealing inside an Encinitas boutique.A missing necklace was the first clue. When Heidi Linkogle looked at her shop's surveillance video, the theft was revealed, move by move."Unbelievable. Devastated," said Linkogle. On Saturday afternoon at the Radix Boutique, a woman in her 40s walked in.RELATED: Police investigating high-end liquor theft in University City"She got a few items off clearance outside and went shopping. Really chatty and unassuming," said Linkogle.Linkogle's assistant was working that day. In the video, the shopper is seen picking out two pairs of earrings and a bracelet, before ducking into the changing room. When she emerges from the dressing room, she has an armful of clothes but there is no sign of the jewelry. The woman leaves the shop briefly and returns with a big purse. She picks out some clothes, walks out of view, bends down and stuffs her purse."She is bold and definitely experienced," said Linkogle.RELATED: Thief steals mom's car packed with kids' Christmas gifts Soon after, at the register - and with the clerk's back turned - the woman is recorded grabbing a necklace and placing it into wallet, just as the clerk returns. The woman chats up the clerk before paying for the clearance items. As she leaves, there is more sticky fingers, as she stuffs more clothing into the shopping bag. The total loss is nearly 0. "It hurts. It really does," said Linkogle. In the past year, she's seen an increase in shoplifting at her shop. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the North Coastal Sheriff's Station at 760-966-3500. 1665

Excited to see the new Star Wars movie? You're not as excited as Ronan Christian.“I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, happy that I'll be able to see another movie, correctly,” said the 12-year-old from Lancaster. Ronan is legally blind. He's also pumped to see Solo, clearly and without constant explanations.“It's been blurry and I would have to have my brother or my dad tell me what's going on,” said Christian. It's hard to miss his Star-Wars-like contraption on his face. It's called eSight. There are screens that show a picture that Ronan can adjust from a controller in his pocket.    While seeing a movie is huge for the 12 year old, it’s the simple things that made the biggest impression on him. “I could finally see my family,” said Christian.Ronan watched Solo at Dipson Flix in Lancaster. The theater is taking donations from movie-goers for 13 other kids, just like Ronan, to get a pair of eSight glasses.   975
