President Donald Trump's personal lawyer used his Trump Organization email account to communicate details of a payment transfer to adult film star Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had an affair with the President before his time in office, Daniels' attorney confirmed to CNN Friday.Michael Avenatti provided an email to CNN in which Cohen confirmed the transfer to Daniels' former attorney, Keith Davidson. Ray Chavez, the nation's oldest survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, has died, the White House says. He was 106.The veteran passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, CNN affiliate KFMB reported, citing a family statement.Chavez was a quartermaster stationed in Pearl Harbor at the time of the Japanese attack on Hawaii that launched America's entry into World War II in 1941.He lived in Poway, California, with his family but gained prominence in recent years as he traveled around the country, attending memorial services and commemorations. Earlier this year, he met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office ahead of Memorial Day."Ray was honored to have served his country and to fight among heroes and loved meeting his fellow comrades," his family said in a statement. President Donald Trump tweeted on Monday that Sec. of Defense Mark Esper has been terminated.Trump added that he has tasked Christopher C. Miller to take over as Acting Sec. of Defense.Esper took over as Acting Sec. of Defense in June and was named as the department's director shortly thereafter. Late last week, NBC News reported that Esper had drafted a resignation letter in the days following the 2020 presidential election.Esper has been at odds with Trump throughout his tenure. In June, he said he opposed the President's call to use active-duty military members to break up protests against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd's death.NBC News also reports that Esper plans to help Congress draft legislation that would re-name military bases that honor Confederate generals — a policy that Trump also opposes.Esper was Trump's second full-time Secretary of Defense.
