Renting a home or condo for a vacation is more popular than ever, thanks to websites such as Airbnb, VRBO, and HomeAway.Unfortunately, a growing number of those rentals are coming with an unwelcome surprise: hidden cameras that record your every move. It’s happening more and more. Just last month, a British couple found a hidden camera inside the alarm clock in their Toronto Airbnb rental.Last fall, a couple on a Florida vacation found a camera hidden in a smoke detector in the bedroom of their Longboat Key condo. They even found the footage it took of them, stored on a miniature hard drive. Why are spy cameras are showing up in more and more rentals?Simple: It’s so easy for owners to do it.A few years ago you needed expensive equipment and wires to hook up a miniature camera. Now you can get a tiny webcam for or less on Amazon and hide it anywhere. 901
RANCHITA, Calif. (KGTV) - Three people were found dead Sunday at the wreckage site of a plane crash that sparked a fire on Volcan Mountain that began Thursday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The people have not been identified. The victims will be airlifted out of the mountain once conditions are safe, the sheriff's office said. The winds were too high on Sunday to fly to the location.Because of the wildfire that burned at the site of the crash along with difficult conditions, investigators could not reach the site until Sunday.CalFire said the fire is now 100 percent contained and burned 12 acres. Crews will still be mopping up the crash site for several days, CalFire said.About 70 firefighters spent the night into Saturday fighting back flames.Friday, San Diego Sheriff's Department (SDSO) officials said they had located the wreckage of a "possible crash site" in the area, but could not reach it due to the fire. Cal Fire says the fire is burning “in an area that is steep and inaccessible to ground resources.”RELATED: Crews battling brush fire near Volcan Mountain in Julian area discover plane wreckage10News learned of the tail number of the reported plane involved late Friday. President Donald Trump tweeted on Monday that Sec. of Defense Mark Esper has been terminated.Trump added that he has tasked Christopher C. Miller to take over as Acting Sec. of Defense.Esper took over as Acting Sec. of Defense in June and was named as the department's director shortly thereafter. Late last week, NBC News reported that Esper had drafted a resignation letter in the days following the 2020 presidential election.Esper has been at odds with Trump throughout his tenure. In June, he said he opposed the President's call to use active-duty military members to break up protests against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd's death.NBC News also reports that Esper plans to help Congress draft legislation that would re-name military bases that honor Confederate generals — a policy that Trump also opposes.Esper was Trump's second full-time Secretary of Defense. Jim Mattis served in the role from 2017 until Jan. 1, 2019, when he resigned following Trump's call to remove U.S. troops from Syria. 1026
President Donald Trump, less than 24 hours after a 29-year-old Uzbek national allegedly drove a truck down a bike path and killed at least eight people, blamed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Democrats for immigration policies he claims allowed the suspect to enter the United States. In a series of tweets on Wednesday morning, Trump turned his focus from comforting those impacted in New York and focused on advocating for the tougher immigration laws that defined his 2016 campaign."The terrorist came into our country through what is called the "Diversity Visa Lottery Program," a Chuck Schumer beauty," Trump tweeted.
