TUSCON, Ariz. – Nearly million worth of meth, cocaine and heroin were found in a vehicle along the U.S.-Mexican border over the weekend, according to U.S. Border Patrol.Agents say two 18-year-olds were arrested Saturday after attempting to smuggle the narcotics near Rio Rico.Officials say agents were patrolling the desert north of the border when they saw several people emerge from brush and load packages into a parked truck near Pe?a Blanca Lake before departing back into the desert.Minutes later, border patrol says agents conducted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet Silverado in the area. Concealed inside the vehicle, they reportedly found 57 packages of suspected meth, cocaine and heroin, with a street value estimated at about ,889,600.The truck’s driver and passenger, both residents of Rio Rico, were arrested and ultimately turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, along with the seized drugs, to face federal drug charges, according to border patrol.Agents say they were unable to locate the individuals that emerged from the brush. 1072

VALLEY CENTER (KGTV)- A former North County school security guard was sentenced Thursday after he was found guilty of sending inappropriate pictures to children online. Steven Lloyd Duncan was arrested by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in December 2018. Six months later he was sentenced to four years in state prison. Duncan was found guilty of four different charges related to child pornography. According to investigators, Duncan used social media platforms like Instagram to communicate with girls ranging in age of 10 to 14 years old. Investigators say he sent photos to underage children and received photos from children. During the investigation, 600 images and 350 videos of child pornography were found on Duncan’s phone and commuter. Duncan was a security guard at Valley Center High School for 11 years but the investigation shows the acts happened after his time working for the district. 928

TUCSON, Ariz. - An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper intentionally collided with a wrong-way vehicle on Oct. 14.According to DPS, a trooper was assisting a stranded driver on the I-10 near Avra Valley. The trooper heard reports of a wrong-way vehicle traveling east within the westbound traffic lanes on I-10.The trooper found the wrong-way vehicle, approaching the car head-on near Cortaro Road. The trooper intentionally aligned the front left corner of his patrol vehicle with the front left corner of the wrong-way vehicle - forcing a collision that immediately stopped the wrong-way driver.DPS said the wrong-way driver was a disoriented, elderly woman. She was not properly restrained during the collision and sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was taken to Banner University Medical Center.The trooper was treated for minor injuries.“The ability of our trooper to assess the situation and take decisive action to stop the wrong-way vehicle, protected the lives of many motorists while endangering his own," said DPS Director, Colonel Frank Milstead. United Airlines confirmed to ABC News on Tuesday that a dog died on board a flight from Houston to New York on Monday after flight attendants requested that the passengers keep the dog in the overheard storage compartment. According to a Facebook post by passenger June Lara, the dog belonged to a family, which included a young girl, a toddler and their mother on board the flight. Lara claimed that flight attendants said the dog would be safe inside the compartment for three hours during the flight. "This little guy fought hard for his life, filling our flight with his cries until he finally ran out of breath," Lara wrote. "United Airlines does not care about the safety of their furry travelers. This poor family paid 5 for their pet to be murdered in front of them. There is no excuse for the pain this family is suffering."United Airlines told ABC News it takes responsibility for the dog's death, but could not say whether anyone would be disciplined for Monday's incident. "This was a tragic accident that should have never occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin,” United said in a statement. “We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them. We are thoroughly investigating what occurred to prevent this from ever happening again.”According to United Airline policy, dogs are permitted on board flights as long as they are kept inside a kennel, which must fit completely under the seat in front of the customer and remain there at all times. 1603
