Disney has narrowed down the opening dates for their Stars Wars expansions that are being built at both Disneyland and Disney World.The company announced on their Disney Parks blog that Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will open at Disneyland in summer of 2019. The expansion will open at Disney World in late fall 2019.The exact dates for the opening of both parks will be announced at a later date. They come just a few months before the yet to be named Star Wars Episode 9 is due in theaters on December 20, 2019.At Disneyland the massive expansion is being built north of Frontierland. At Disney World is being built at Disney's Hollywood Studios.The Disney World expansion is also being accompanied by a Star Wars themed hotel. (KGTV) A witness is disputing the claim that a July 4th incident in an El Cajon neighborhood was a racially motivated attack.On Lima Court on the night of July 4th, families were getting set to view a nearby fireworks show. Scott, who was visiting family, says that for hours, neighbors had been dealing with drivers speeding through the area."Bunch of people telling were telling the cars that were passing through. It happened dozens of times ... to slow down," said Scott.Just before 9, an SUV drove into the neighborhood. Scott says it was also speeding. The woman in the passenger seat, Alana Christman, says they were driving slowly. The man at the wheel was her fiance, William Gavin. Their two young children were in the back."I was looking down at the GPS and we heard, 'You can't come in our neighborhood,'" Christman told 10news in an interview Monday.She says at that moment, a man threw a lit cigarette, which landed on her blouse, the ashes filling up the vehicle. Surveillance video obtained by 10news shows Gavin was outside the vehicle moments later.While Gavin says the man he believed tossed the cigarette, took the first swing, Scott says he saw Gavin swing first."Hit him, threw him to the ground, then kicked him in the chest," said Scott.In the video, a group of people are seen following Gavin to the SUV. Christman calls the group a 'mob,' attacking the SUV and ripping the door off its hinge. Scott says the group was just trying to prevent the man from leaving the scene."Everyone tried to get him to stop for a second. The door was damaged in the process of car trying to pull off and speed off, and ended up hitting a lady in the process," said Scott.Police say a woman suffered minor injuries. The family says they pulled around the corner to get to safety and called police. They told 10news they felt the incident was racially motivated. Scott believes the spark was the speeding cars."People of all races were yelled at that night. It was preventing people from being jerks. It wasn't anything to do with race. EL CAJON, Calif., (KGTV)-- San Diego Gas and Electric (SDGE) unveiled their new line of firefighting tools Wednesday afternoon, including a helicopter and a new tactical command vehicle. A little spark can transform into a violent rage. That is the fear and reality of a wildfire. "Californians were devastated and had the most destructive and deadliest wildfire season last year," SDGE Chief Operating Officer, Caroline Winn said. In 2018, there were 8,000 fires in the state that scorched more than one million acres. While no one can predict mother nature, SDGE says they are more prepared than ever. Meet Bruce Pulgencio's newest ride, the UH-60 Blackhawk. The aircraft is SDGE's newest member of their fire fighting arsenal. It can reach up to 140 mph, carry 860 gallons of water, and fills up in only 45 seconds. "It will dip the bucket into the water and pull out then we will go to the fire and be able to release the water to the fire," pilot Bruce Pulgencio said. "We just keep rotating to dip site to drop site."The copter and the pilot share a similar story. The aircraft came from the Army Surplus. Pulgencio just retired from the Army National Guard. After their military careers, the two joined together to fight fires from the sky."it's like driving a smaller sports car and then driving a semi-truck," Pulgencio said. The semi-truck he is referring to is SDGE's premiere firefighting helicopter, the Erickson Aircrane. Its 2,650-gallon tank has been assisting San Diego fire agencies for a decade."It can get into smaller places," Pulgencio said about the new Blackhawk. "We all have our specialties, where they have their snorkels, and we have our bucket. It's just a different way to approach the water and to fight the fire."Since its debut in June, the Blackhawk has already proven its value. It flew over last week's Caliente fire in Otay Mesa. Surrounded by terrain that ground crews had a difficult time accessing, the brand new UH-60 Blackhawk dropped thousands of gallons of water atop the pallet yard. Also joining the team this season is the new SDGE Tactical command vehicle. The mobile electrical hub is a place where scientists can gather and send the latest weather mapping information to ground crews on the fire line."It allows our teams to deploy quickly, and we can establish full internet and satellite phone capabilities in any location," Winn said. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A 16-year-old is battling life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in the East County.The teenager was hit by the vehicle at about 8 p.m. Monday near the intersection of East Washington Avenue and Waterloo Ave., El Cajon police said.Police arrived to find the teenager unconscious in the road and transported him to a nearby hospital. The identification of the victim is being withheld, police said.Police added that the teen was with three other male teenagers, who had been running south across East Washington Ave. outside of a crosswalk when the collision occurred. The driver of the Toyota Rav4 that struck the victim remained at the scene and has been cooperating with authorities. Police said they don't believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.Witnesses told 10News the intersection can be dangerous for pedestrians in the area. 921
