She said the situation becomes most dangerous when someone who is intoxicated passes out in the heat.If you see someone suffering from heat stroke, call 911. Mother of two, Shannon Crais spent the day at Ocean Beach Sunday. "We live a couple of blocks away, so we come down here a couple of times a week."Her daughter Sam likes to play tag with the waves, as they ripple towards her older brother Alex. The Ocean Beach residents say they know the potential dangers of their favorite play area. "I talk to my son about it because he is a little bit bigger," Craig said. "But my daughter, she stays close. We talk about the ocean being dangerous."Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service dropped the Beach Hazards Warning for all of San Diego County. But all weekend, beachgoers faced strong rip currents and high breaking waves. This was a point of concern for some, but great news for surfers like Jesus Rodriguez. "I think the hurricane is bringing the swell from down south and it has been awesome!" Rodriguez said. Rodriguez says the waves were much better this long holiday weekend thanks to the high surf advisory. They were so good that he had to share the waves with a lot more people than usual. That is why he was doing two-a-day sessions over the last few days. "You get a lot better waves and a lot better form on the wave, so you can start ripping them up," Rodriguez said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The vision of SDSU's future home field is coming into focus after brand new renderings were unveiled Saturday at Aztec Football Fan Fest.This comes after a November ballot measure to redevelop the SDCCU Stadium site with a professional soccer stadium. It was handily rejected by voters, who favored a competing plan that will include a new stadium for San Diego State University football."We have designed a stadium that works for Aztec football, but it's going to work for soccer, it's going to work for concerts, the concourse was developed in a way that it's going to be able to be used 365 days a year," Athletics Director John David Wicker said.READ RELATED: Sources: SDSU meets with Major League SoccerWhen students saw the new plan, they were ecstatic, "that's so awesome! SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Rapid Response Network (SDRRN) gave 10News an exclusive look inside the shelter where they help asylum seekers daily. The location of the shelter is kept private to protect the migrants. Rapid Response usually houses people for 24 to 48 hours. When migrants first arrive, they see a doctor the go to an intake room where volunteers help make travel arrangements with family members already inside the U.S. The migrants are fed three times a day and are each given a full set of clothing. Sometimes, the network even funds their travel plans. Volunteers at the shelter tell 10News they are running out of resources to continue helping. They want city, county and state officials to step in and help. In the meantime, they are relying on donations from the community. They've set up a GoFund Me campaign and a travel fund for the migrants who need help with transportation. The city tells 10News they are exploring all options to help.Tuesday, the asylum claims of six Hondurans were accepted for processing, ending a 17-hour standoff, according to the Associated Press. The asylum seekers arrived at the crossing Monday afternoon but after several hours in the U.S., inspectors agreed to process claims of eight unaccompanied children and a mother with her five children. Six more weren’t initially allowed into the country and sat on blanket through the night before authorities processed their claims. The impasse highlighted a U.S. practice to limit entry for asylum seekers at official crossings when they are at full capacity, which it calls "metering" or "queue management." 1622
