A Monroe County woman is facing second-degree murder charges after police say she decapitated her seven-year old son in her Sweden, New York home Thursday night.According to 13 WHAM in Rochester, court documents show Hanane Mouhib, 36, used "a large-bladed kitchen knife to intentionally stab [the boy] in the upper-left area of the back." The victim, Abraham Cardenas, was a first-grade student at Barclay Elementary School in the Brockport School District. Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter said several other people, including children, were in the home at the time of the attack. Mouhib graduated from nursing school at the College at Brockport in May 2011.Officials at Rochester Regional Health System told 13 WHAM Mouhib worked as a nurse practitioner at Genesee Mental Health from January 2016 through January 2017.The town of Sweden sits on the western edge of Monroe County, and is bordered on the west by Orleans County and on the south by Genesee County.  1019

A San Diego bail bondsman is disputing a controversial Facebook live in which the narrator says his agents were turning in a suspected undocumented immigrant.The video, shot Monday by Ryan McAdams, shows Watkins employees turning a Latino man into central jail. McAdams, wearing a Watkins hat, narrates the video, saying the man was at risk of skipping trial and costing Watkins ,000. He added commentary that drew criticism from immigration advocates. "He's in here hiding under sanctuary status right now," McAdams says in the nine-minute video. "Let ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) deal with him."Jerald Watkins, who co-owns Watkins Bail Bonds, said he watched that video in shock. He said immigration status doesn't matter. "As long as you appear at your court dates, that's all we're asking," he said. Watkins said his workers took the man in after he changed his address and phone number, plus a warning from his co-signors that he may skip trial. "The family called and said look, this guy's acting shaky, we don't want to be on the hook for ,000," he said. Watkins said McAdams isn't his employee. A request from children is changing the future of LEGO kits. The company announced they will be phasing out their single-use plastic bags used to separate parts of their kits beginning next year.“We have received many letters from children about the environment asking us to remove single-use plastic packaging. We have been exploring alternatives for some time and the passion and ideas from children inspired us to begin to make the change,” stated CEO Niels Christiansen in a company release.The toymaker has set a goal of making all of their packaging sustainable by the end of 2025. Beginning in 2021, they will look at using recyclable paper bags in their kits.Testing has already taken place, and LEGO says kids liked the paper bags because they were environmentally friendly and easy to open.Other LEGO products will be getting an environmentally friendly makeover in the future, too. The company said it is testing blocks made from sugar cane and other sustainable materials. 992

A prayer rally was held over the weekend for a 33-year-old man who died after being arrested by sheriff’s deputies in a Southern California grocery store.The man, Ernie Serrano, was at the store last Tuesday night in line to pay for his items. Sheriff’s deputies say when they arrived at the store, they saw Serrano tussling with a security guard and attempting to take the guard’s gun, according to a department press release.“While detaining Serrano, he continued fighting with the deputies and did not comply with their commands. At that time, a use of force occurred,” Sgt. Lionel Murphy with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department states in the release.Serrano was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies say Serrano then stopped breathing. "Medical personnel on scene rendered aid and was able to obtain a pulse. Serrano was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. While at the hospital, Serrano’s condition deteriorated, and he was later pronounced deceased," the department states. Serrano’s family disagrees on what happened in the store, and point to video shared on social media from a witness showing a deputy walk up to Serrano and beat him a few times with a baton before another deputy tackles him.The department said the use of force in Serrano’s arrest is under investigation at this time.The family is raising money for Serrano’s memorial services.Warning: the video may be difficult to watch and the post contains strong language. 1499
