House Democrats are expected to retain a majority of US House seats in 2021, but with a smaller margin. The leader of the House Democrats, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said on Wednesday the election was “challenging” in a letter to colleagues.As of Wednesday evening, House Republicans have netted five seats by flipping seven Democratic seats. Democrats flipped two previously held Republican seats.All seven of the House Democrats that lost were representatives who only served one term in Congress. The seven freshmen members of Congress ushered in a “Blue Wave” in 2018, which gave Democrats the majority in the House for the first time in eight years.The 2018 Blue Wave also returned Pelosi to the speaker’s chair, where it appears she’ll remain in 2021 and 2022.“Though it was a challenging election, all of our candidates – both Frontline and Red to Blue – made us proud,” Pelosi wrote to colleagues. “Their drumbeat For The People enabled Democrats to Hold The House and flipped critical battleground states, building our margins across the board. Our discipline in building a massive battlefield proved essential in keeping the Majority. Our success enabled us to win in our ‘mobilization, messaging and money,’ forcing Republicans to defend their own territory.”Despite not winning a majority of seats, House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy celebrated Republicans regaining seats in the House.“We expanded this party that reflects America, that looks like America. And thanks,” McCarthy said. “I think the rejection that we saw last night from the Democrats was that America does not want to be a socialist nation. I think the other rejection that we saw, we watched the Democrats promise if they would be given the power to have the majority, that they would act different, that they would solve problems and they wasted their majority.” 1850

In early September, the Dow Jones reached 29,000 points for the first since February. It appeared the Dow Jones Industrial Average was on its way to returning to pre-pandemic levels. But the Dow dropped in September, and closed at 27,772 on Tuesday.Trump said that he will not resume negotiations with House Democrats until after next month’s election, which is four weeks from today.Late last month, House Democrats passed a .2 trillion stimulus plan despite knowing it would not be entertained by the US Senate. The proposal still costs more than the White House has said it would like, but is down from the .4 trillion stimulus plan House Democrats passed back in May.In addition to another set of ,200 direct payments to millions of Americans, House Democrats propose using 5 million for education, more funding for the struggling airline industry, and 6 million for local governments. When approaching someone about their views on COVID-19, and their habits, he said it’s best to remain calm and open-minded.“It is throwing everyone for a loop,” Stanfield said, “So instead of saying that you’re really getting worked up about this, that’s probably not the best initial approach. It may be ‘I can see that this is really upsetting to you, can you tell me a little bit more about that?'”He said trying to understand, before attempting to be understood, is a good starting place. “Am I willing to consider their perspective, or am I in this to prove them wrong? Which in the end gets us nowhere in all of this, so I think those basic things are really important and critical.”If you know why someone’s habits are a certain way, it’s possible to compromise.“I know some people say compromise is a dirty word, in this case, I think compromise really gets at the fact that I’m wanting to meet someone or be a part of someone’s life the best I can," Stanfield said.If the social awkwardness persists, a ton of people is going to therapy to sort it out right now.“I sometimes equate therapy to taking your car in to get an oil change. In a recent tweet, Elon Musk said his Hyperloop tunnel for rapid transportation is nearly complete.The high-speed tunnel he is building is expected to open Dec.10, according to Musk's Twitter page. It will run under Hawthone, California, near Los Angeles, and transport people between Dodger Stadium and nearly metro stations in less than 4 minutes, according to foxbusiness.com.Musk is making no guarantees about the work his tunneling company, called Boring Company, is doing. On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he said it started as a joke because he hates Los Angeles traffic so much, but then he decided to realize the idea.Musk doesn't see his version of Hyperloop involving stations such as current commuter rails have. His will have small stations the size of parking spaces and involve van-like vehicles as part of the transport. 863
