Almost two dozen people became trapped when a storm knocked over a large tree onto a detached garage, which collapsed. A woman has been arrested after allegedly trying to suffocate her 7-month-old son.Authorities said they took 23-year-old Jennifer Sandor, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, into custody and charged her with attempted criminal homicide after she allegedly tried to suffocate her son, who was a patient at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.Sandor had taken her baby to the hospital for unexplained medical episodes that left the child blue and limp.On Friday, staff at the hospital said they witnessed Sandor use her hands to cover her son’s mouth and nose, preventing the baby from breathing.Reports stated the child was in obvious distress. They added he was struggling to free himself.Authorities said Sandor released the child only after staff intervened.         Sandor was being held in lieu of a 0,000 bond. 860

(AP) -- Authorities say seven people were fatally shot in Southern California at an illegal marijuana growing operation.The crime scene was discovered around 12:30 a.m. Monday when Riverside County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in the community of Aguanga about 50 miles north of San Diego.Deputies found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds and paramedics took her to a hospital, where she died.Six more people were then found dead. A woman known to authorities as a prostitute is accused of setting up one of her Johns to be robbed.Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office detectives say Christina Chiesa, 36, had sex with a man for money and then signaled for Robert Jones, 26, and two other men to steal from him. Surveillance video captured the victim having sex with Chiesa behind a dumpster behind a shopping plaza in suburban West Palm Beach on April 10, according to an arrest report.Jones is seen on video walking up to them, pulling out a knife, swinging it at the victim, the report states. “I’m gonna open you up, give me the money,” Jones allegedly told the victim.The victim told detectives he was able to fight off Jones until Chiesa signaled for two other men to come over. He said the men punched and cut him in the face. He said one of the wounds was so deep that he needed stitches. The suspects stole 0 out of his wallet and his beach cruiser bicycle. He said he was able to grab his wallet back from Chiesa.Days later, a deputy recognized Chiesa and Jones from the surveillance video. The two other men were not identified in the report.Chiesa was arrested on April 11 and Jones was arrested on April 13. They are being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond. They are facing charges of robbery and aggravated battery.Chiesa has been convicted of prostitution three times in Palm Beach County. 1435
