WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" was supposed to open this weekend before the coronavirus pandemic forced movie theaters to shut down and major studios to shuffle the summer movie lineup.Instead, its predecessor is the No. 1 movie in the nation -- just as it was 36 summers ago.The 1984 classic was the top draw at the box office during the three-day Fourth of July weekend."Ghostbusters," which first opened in June 1984, grossed 0,000 during the holiday weekend and 6,000 since the start of July.That number tops the milestone set for the longest gap between No. 1-ranked weekends for a movie, set last month by "Jurassic Park."The resurgence of many classic movies is attributable to the popularity of drive-in theaters during the pandemic. Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, home to the NFL's Miami Dolphins, has taken advantage of the new fad, transforming into a drive-in theater and showing several classic movies like "Jaws," "Back to the Future" and "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial."Prior to last weekend, "Ghostbusters" hadn't led box-office sales since September 1984.The comedy blockbuster starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver had a seven-week run as the top movie at the box office (Prince's "Purple Rain" overtook "Ghostbusters" on the final weekend of July) and spent another two weekends at No. 1 in 1984. Wasping is not a new and improved way to get rid of those pesky insects; it's a dangerous new drug trend, and it's causing concerns in Summit County, Ohio after three cases were reported in just one week.Inspector Bill Holland said the white foam spray used to eliminate wasps and hornets is being cut with meth by some drug users for a combination high."Some are spraying it on the meth. Some are spraying it in a manner where they can heat it up and then crystalize it, and then once it's crystallized, they can heat it up again and shoot it into their veins," Holland said.In three different cases over the last week, two men and a woman who appeared to be high were arrested.Once inside the Summit County Jail, they began experiencing hallucinations.Holland said the woman became flushed and agitated, and her vitals were off."Her body started to contort. It almost looked like if you spray a wasp, how they can kind of shrivel up and their body kind of cinches up," Holland said. "That's kind of how she looked."The woman, and one of the male inmates, were taken to a hospital for treatment, then returned to the jail."Once it's all over, they have no recollection of what happened," Holland said.Dr. Garry Thrasher with Oriana House said smoking or injecting the insecticide in combination with meth is very dangerous."Methamphetamines by themselves can cause psychotic behaviors, sometimes paranoia and even violence, and combining it with another substance that's abused is very problematic," Dr. Thrasher said.Both Holland and Thrasher have read about similar cases in the U.S., but the incidents documented at the jail were the first cases they've heard about locally.Dr. Thrasher urged people not to take a chance with the drug combo and stressed there are many treatment facility options for those struggling with addiction or abuse.Holland worries that others will make the foolish decision to try wasping, so he's sending out a warning about the severity of this new practice."It can be deadly for people and we don't want that to happen, but we do want to make people aware of what's going on out there," Holland said.  2212

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A Pasco County photographer recruited her friends for a creative Halloween photoshoot involving pizza and pumpkins.Jennifer Sapountsis said the COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful for everyone."Trick-or-treating has changed a lot and people can't do as much stuff, so why not just try to bring smiles to people's faces and have fun with it," said Sapountsis.She asked her friends, Chris and Sarah Weed, to carve two pumpkins. The three then went to The Edison, a venue in Dade City.The couple was photographed wearing pumpkins on their head. They also ate some pizza."I feel like pizza and beer is an iconic thing for couples when they're chill. What do you want to do on a date night? Let's order some pizza, some beer, chill out," she said.The couple also dressed as ghosts and danced around. Sapountsis shared the photos on her Facebook page, Jennifer Alyssa Photography."I've gotten a lot of responses. I've seen other people try to do the same thing. I've seen a lot of people say that this is what I needed for my day....this was so funny, I want to do the same shoot next year," she said.She said she hopes the pictures make people laugh and smile. She also said her friend's husband was not crazy about the idea until he saw the finished product."He loves his wife, so he was okay doing it and going that extra step...there was so much laughter, so much fun. He was absolutely okay with it at the end. WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Target will bring a new type of store to Indiana in 2019.The retailer announced Thursday it will open its first small-format store at 304 W. State Street near the Purdue campus in West Lafayette.The store will offer "a quick-trip shopping experience" with beauty and personal care items, food and beverages, and dorm and apartment essentials.The small-format Target will also offer Order Pickup which will allow customers to buy online and pickup in the store.The nearly 12,000-square-foot West Lafayette store will employ up to 45 people.Development will begin this spring pending city council approval.Target says it has plans to open 130 of these small-format stores by the end of 2019.The stores will be in areas where a traditional Target may not fit, like dense suburban neighborhoods, urban areas and on college campuses.   877
