RANCHITA, Calif. (KGTV) - Three people were found dead Sunday at the wreckage site of a plane crash that sparked a fire on Volcan Mountain that began Thursday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The people have not been identified. The victims will be airlifted out of the mountain once conditions are safe, the sheriff's office said. The winds were too high on Sunday to fly to the location.Because of the wildfire that burned at the site of the crash along with difficult conditions, investigators could not reach the site until Sunday.CalFire said the fire is now 100 percent contained and burned 12 acres. Crews will still be mopping up the crash site for several days, CalFire said.About 70 firefighters spent the night into Saturday fighting back flames.Friday, San Diego Sheriff's Department (SDSO) officials said they had located the wreckage of a "possible crash site" in the area, but could not reach it due to the fire. Cal Fire says the fire is burning “in an area that is steep and inaccessible to ground resources.”RELATED: Crews battling brush fire near Volcan Mountain in Julian area discover plane wreckage10News learned of the tail number of the reported plane involved late Friday. President Donald Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday as part of a Veterans Day ceremony.Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in an act that has become a Veterans Day and Memorial Day tradition for presidents in the years since the remains of several unidentified U.S. soldiers who fought in World War I were interred at the cemetery in 1921.In the years since, remains of other unidentified soldiers from World War II and the Korean War have since been interred in the area. The remains of a U.S. soldier who fought in the Vietnam War were briefly interred in the tomb before scientists identified them as those of Air Force 1st Lt. Michael Joseph Blassie. Blassie's remains were removed from the tomb in 1998 upon his family's request. The Tomb has come to represent all U.S. soldiers who have been killed or remain missing in action. The wreath-laying ceremony was Trump's first on-camera public appearance since most media outlets projected Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.Prior to Wednesday, Trump's last on-camera public appearance came on Nov. 5 when he held a press conference at the White House to falsely claim victory in the 2020 presidential race citing baseless claims of widespread voter fraud. 1277

President Donald Trump signed the .3 trillion spending bill to keep the federal government open Friday, then excoriated Congress for passing the plan in the first place.Earlier Friday, the President threatened to veto the measure over concerns it does not include a solution for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program or sufficient funding for a border wall."I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded," Trump tweeted just before 9 a.m. on Friday. The missive sent White House officials and Republican leaders on Capitol Hill scurrying to ensure that Trump would still sign the omnibus spending bill, which top White House officials promised just a day earlier Trump would sign. The massive spending package marks the end of a months-long funding stalemate in which lawmakers were forced to pass one short-term spending bill after another to stave off a shutdown. The package includes more than just money to fight the opioid epidemic, pay the military and fund more than billion in infrastructure projects. It also includes policy changes like one that would incentivize states to enter more records into the country's gun background check system and another that would cut off aid to the Palestinian Authority until Palestinians cease making payments to the families of terrorists.Spotted in the West Wing on Friday by CNN shortly after Trump's tweet, Marc Short, the White House legislative affairs director, struck an assured tone when asked if the government would shut down over Trump's veto threat."I think we'll be OK," he said. 1814
