Now, California Highway Patrol officers are getting in on the challenge. And it's appropriately Californian.CHP officers put together a six-minute music video of their lip singing skills, even recruiting "CHiPs" star Erik Estrada back to the force to help out.RELATED: Ohio police department raises 'lip sync challenge' bar with doughnut?videoThe video begins with a group of officers trying to decide which song to pick, before CHP mascot Chipper calls in Estrada to set the stage."Listen up, I know you're the best, you're elite, and you're tops in cops but I'm from Hollywood, and this is how we do it. You fix your hair, then we roll," Estrada says, before a classic toupee adjustment.Officers begin with Tupac's "California Love," before tackling other Golden State hits including "California Sun" by the Ramones on San Diego's USS Midway; "California Gurls" by Katy Perry; "California Dreamin'" by the Mamas & the Papas; "California Girls" by The Beach Boys; and The Eagles' "Hotel California."Check out the music video here: 1267
(KGTV) -- The controversial immigrant caravan is inching it's way closer to the San Diego border, with at least 132 people already in Tijuana. Many of the migrants plan to walk across the pedestrian bridge in San Ysidro and turn themselves in to the customs officers. The group of more than 600 has ridden trains and walked for miles to get to the United States - Mexico border. Enrique Morones and his team - known as Border Angels - are sending supplies to Tijuana. "The Border Angels have been very supportive, we've had people on the caravan, we have been collecting items for the caravan," he said. "These people that are coming on a caravan are escaping a situation in their country that they're seeking refuge from. Let's welcome that stranger. Give me your poor, your tired your huddled masses."Jorge Nieto, a journalist following the immigrants' journey, says they have been arriving in Tijuana in small groups - 50 to 100 at a time.Nieto was told that once the whole group is together, they'll cross all at once. The caravan hasn't been without controversy.President Trump tweeted this week, saying he instructed the secretary of homeland security to keep the large caravan out of the U.S., and asked Mexico to keep the immigrants from going through the Country. RELATED: Migrant caravan heads to US-Mexico border "They're trying to escape something. Either hunger or violence or some sort of a war that's going on," Nieto said. "One of the reasons that they go in caravans is there's a power in groups. If you go as a group, then you're more secure."San Diegans For Secure Borders, a local group against the caravan, plans to stop the caravan when they arrive. In a Facebook group they created, they say that the "mass foreign invasion" must be stopped. In 2014, the same group went to Murrietta to stop buses of immigrant detainees from Texas. We reached out to them several times to find out what they plan on doing this week but did not get a response. 2031
(KGTV) — Stone Brewery's move on Berlin may have been too much, too soon. The San Diego-based brewery has decided to sell their Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Berlin facility to Brewdog, a Scottish craft brewer that owns and operates a series of pubs around the world. The decision was attributed to the cost of maintaining the 1901 gasworks property used as Stone's facility, as well as Germany's construction industry, Stone's co-founder Greg Koch wrote on the company's blog.. RELATED: Judge swats Stone Brewing's injunction, says 'strong' case against MillerCoors"To feed a beast like Stone Berlin, we needed volume. The sheer cost of building and maintaining Stone Berlin to our standards didn’t let us grow it slowly," Koch wrote on the post titled, "Farewell Stone Brewing Berlin: Too Big, Too Bold, Too Soon." He went on to say, "the truth is, the construction industry in Berlin is broken. Yes, there’s a lot of bureaucracy. The U.S. has more than a bit of that, so we were prepared for it."And also in part to German taste buds."Amazing beer is being brewed by amazing brewers all over the country. Unfortunately, according to the stats, most Germans are still ignoring these wonderful beers and buying the cheap stuff," Koch wrote.RELATED: Three San Diego breweries named to top craft breweries list — because of courseThe brewery said it will continue to distribute its beer throughout Germany, after making many "converts" in Europe. Some Stone beers will still be brewed at the Berlin location. The facility, however, will be under Brewdog."We invested a significant portion of a decade and significant millions building Stone Berlin. And it didn’t work out. These things hurt and these things happen. This one happened. And this one hurts a lot," Koch wrote. 1791
