Googled your name lately? You might be surprised by what you find.If someone has your name and your approximate age, they can find out a lot about you online.Digital journalist Yael Grauer says people search sites like Spokeo, Whitepages, and MyLife make a lot of your personal information widely available.Public records, court documents, real estate, voter rolls,  are all places Grauer says your information is pulled from.And it's up to you to get it taken down. In an article for the website Motherboard, Grauer gives a list of people search sites and how to request that your information be removed.Some sites like MyLife, require a phone call or email. But others have more hoops for you to jump through."They want you to mail your driver’s license," Grauer said.Even then, removal may not be permanent."You have to repeat this process every three months or so," Grauer says of the privacy service.Grauer says the privacy service, Delete Me, offers to continuously have you removed for an annual fee.But Grauer says the easiest way to keep them out of your business is to "be careful about not giving out your information as much as possible."That could mean using a P.O. box or your work address to receive mail — or using your initials instead of your full name when making purchases. 1316

From his hospital room in Florida, a student wounded in the Parkland school massacre plans to sue his school district and the Broward County Sheriff's Office, his attorney said."The failure of Broward County Public Schools, and of the Principal and School Resource Officer to adequately protect students, and in particular our client, from life-threatening harm were unreasonable, callous and negligent," attorney Alex F. Hospital nurses near Philadelphia went on strike on Tuesday and Wednesday, airing a grievance over working conditions amid the coronavirus pandemic.On Wednesday, the nurses’ union said they were told they will now be locked out of their jobs through the end of the week. The 800 nurses are employed at the suburban St. Mary’s Medical Center.One of the main sticking points is minimum staffing levels, which is the proportion of patients to nurses in a hospital.“We tell Trinity we need more nurses, in large part because, as Trinity has acknowledged, we’re 15 years behind in wages, and they tell us they can’t afford to pay us a competitive wage,” says Jim Gentile, R.N., a surgical services nurse who has been at St. Mary for more than 35 years. “If they can’t find the money to recruit and retain more nurses, did they magically find several million dollars in the back of a drawer to pay the agency nurses?”Hospitals in the Philadelphia area previously told the Philadelphia Inquirer that they would hire replacement nurses to work if the union goes on strike."We respect the union members’ right to strike, and we remain committed to negotiating in good faith to reach agreement on a fair, consistent and sustainable initial contract for St. Mary nurses. HARRISON, Ohio -- A dad used heroin in a gas station parking lot while his 2-year-old daughter sat in the backseat, according to a police affidavit. The father then resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a stun gun, police said.Brenton Sturgill, 37, of Harrison, had two hypodermic needles -- one “still loaded with heroin” -- when he was arrested Saturday at the BP station at 9055 Dry Fork Road, according to the affidavit.Sturgill resisted arrest, leading to a “physical altercation,” according to the arresting officer. He has been charged with using illegal drugs, endangering children and resisting arrest. He appeared in court Monday morning. 686
