SANTA ANA (CNS) - Orange County health officials reported a record number of coronavirus cases for the second consecutive day Sunday, announcing 434 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths.The numbers bring the county's totals to 10,422 cases and 269 deaths, and follow Saturday's reporting of 413 newly confirmed cases and 10 deaths.The Orange County Health Care Agency said last week was the county's deadliest since the pandemic began, with 55 COVID-19 deaths reported between June 13-19.The number of people hospitalized with the coronavirus rose from 321 to 332, with the number of patients in intensive care dropping from 135 to 133.A total of 212,113 people have been tested for the virus, with 789 tests reported Sunday.There have been 4,953 documented recoveries, according to the OCHCA.The total number of Orange County cases break down to 50% men and 50% women, but men account for 57% of the deaths.Santa Ana leads all county cities with 2,189 cases, followed by Anaheim with 2,007. Their high numbers are attributed to large populations and the presence of multiple nursing homes in both cities. Santa Ana and Anaheim are Orange County's two largest cities in population.Dr. Clayton Chau, the Health Care Agency director and interim chief health officer, said the "hot spots" of Santa Ana and Anaheim "keep me up at night" with concern. (KGTV) — Dos Desperados brewing in San Marcos was headed for a banner year until the coronavirus outbreak hit."We had all of our vats full and of course we had to shut down," said owner Steve Munson. "It's not a killer yet, We're trying to survive until the end of the year."Sales plummeted in the tasting room and distribution. Munson had to cut his staff of eight to two, even letting his own daughter go. It got even more complicated in early July, when the governor eliminated indoor service for bars and restaurants.But when Munson approached the City of San Marcos to get an outdoor permit, he says it went lightning-quick, something Munson never expected.San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones says it happened fast because the city already had the framework in place to streamline outdoor permits, with no fees. The city actually approved it in late May. Jones credits Innovate 78, a collaborative effort between the five cities that line the 78: San Marcos, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Escondido, and Vista. They've been working together on the economy for years."If you are not looking forward to what could happen next, you're not really planning," Jones said. "So we try to plan for the unknown, and I really believe that has come from COVID."Innovate 78 now plans to send a letter to Gov. (KGTV) - A San Marcos woman is speaking out for the first time about her ,000,000 claim against San Diego County.She told 10News that two sheriff's deputies knocked on her door in the middle of the night last August for a welfare check.  There was no problem and they left but she said Deputy Richard Fischer returned alone an hour later, saying he needed to use her restroom; then told her she was cute and hugged her, several times."It wasn't an okay hug.  I was stunned, shocked.  It was very fast and confusing."She resisted. "Yeah, I felt very vulnerable, intimidated, felt weak. I felt little.  It's just a mess! Everything is a mess!   This is hard to do. He shouldn't have come back to my house and I don't ... everything's a mess!"Three months later, she said she's still frightened."Would I open the door anymore? No. I think he's bad for law enforcement and bad for me. I think he's a bad guy!"Dep. Fischer was placed on administrative duties after the complaint was filed.  An investigation is ongoing, now with two more women talking to investigators.Another San Marcos woman told a similar story.  An Alpine woman said she was arrested on a questionable charge, handcuffed, and fondled while in restraints. 1329

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The fearsome NFL pass rusher Fred Dean has died. The death of the former San Francisco 49ers star on Wednesday night was confirmed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.Ex-teammate Dwight Hicks says Dean was hospitalized last week with the coronavirus and was on a ventilator. Dean was 68 years old.Dean was a key part of the launch of the 49ers' dynasty. He was an undersized pass rusher who began his career as a second-round pick with the San Diego Chargers in 1975 and ended it in the Pro Football Hall of Fame after being named an All-Pro twice and making four Pro Bowls.Dean was an All-Pro for the Chargers in 1980 but had his biggest impact after being traded to San Francisco during the 1981 season.Dean is a member of the Chargers Hall of Fame and was named to the Bolts' 40th and 50th anniversary teams. 838

SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) - Hundreds gathered at a park in San Ysidro in support of the migrant caravan just hours before border officials closed the border.A group called the San Diego Migrant and Refugee Coalition organized the Sunday rally that eventually turned into a march. About 600 people joined the coalition which is made up of 20 migrant support and social justice groups. The organizers say they disagree with the militarization of the border and want the migrants to know they are loved and welcome. The march ended peacefully at the San Ysidro Port of Entry.  606
