SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A sea of purple covered Mission Bay Park as thousands showed up to ride, run and walk for epilepsy awareness.The event is Sharon's Ride, Run, Walk.  Sharon’s Ride was started by Dr. William Rosenfeld honor Dr. Rosenfeld’s sister, Sharon,  who was killed in a bicycle accident while bicycling cross country. She was also a nurse and teacher who cared deeply about epilepsy. Dr. Rosenfeld is the chairman of the event nationwide.   Participants could choose from a 15-mile bike ride or a 5k run or walk around Mission Bay.   The money raised benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County.   678

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman in Carmel Valley is warning others after she saw a man masturbating in public late Wednesday night. The woman, who didn't want to be identified, said she was doing a late-night load of laundry when she saw a man in a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his face and no pants on masturbating. The incident happened at an apartment complex near Seabreeze Farms Drive and Carmel Knolls Drive. “When I screamed ‘oh my god’ he didn’t budge, he didn’t move, he didn’t even look up at me. He just kept doing what he was doing,” she said. “He didn’t run, he just was in his, he was so comfortable.” She reported it to police and management and was told the same thing happened to another neighbor last week. Police told 10News they are investigating.  818

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal hit-and-run Sunday in Sherman Heights, San Diego Police have confirmed to 10News.On Sunday, a silver SUV was traveling eastbound in the 1800 block of Market Street at about 2 a.m. when the vehicle hit a pedestrian. Family members have identified the victim as 41-year-old Jason Gordon.It's still not clear if Gordon was standing in the street or crossing lanes, police said. The driver fled the scene after fatally hitting the man.Police Tuesday released photos of the man they believed to be the suspect of the crash visiting Humberto’s Taco Shop on the corner of Broadway and 25th Street, where he ordered food. The cashier who took the man's order said it appeared that the man had been drinking that night.RELATED: Pedestrian struck, killed by hit-and-run motorist in San DiegoPolice say the photos from the taco shop and photos from Smart Street Lights near the crash scene led them to the home of 28-year-old Christopher Nunez, where they also located the suspected vehicle, a 2008 GMC Envoy. Nunez was arrested and booked into county jail on felony hit-and-run charges.Nunez is being held on 0,000 bail and set to be arraigned on Jan. 24.Gordon's wife, Katie, sent 10News the following statement after the arrest:"While nothing can bring Jason back to his family, this arrest is a small step forward in the healing process. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An SUV reported stolen crashed as it fled from San Diego police, killing three of the vehicle’s occupants.At around 11 p.m. Tuesday, police were near the intersection of 24th Street and Island Avenue in Sherman Heights when they spotted a silver 2003 Honda Pilot SUV traveling without its headlights on, before learning that it was reported stolen a day earlier by Chula Vista Police.The driver ran a red light while traveling east on Market Street, according to SDPD. When officers tried to pull the SUV over, the driver sped away towards Interstate 15.Officers lost sight of the vehicle. Moments later, with a police helicopter tracking the SUV, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a pole on Market Street, near Raven Street, in the Mount Hope area.According to police, two of the four people inside were ejected from the vehicle and two others were trapped in the wreckage. Emergency responders took one person to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening, but they are expected to survive. The driver and two other passengers were declared dead at the scene, police said.No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.The initial investigation revealed that none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts as the vehicle was traveling more than 100 mph just before the crash, police said. 1387
