Police are investigating an alleged sexual misconduct incident at Las Brisas Academy in Goodyear, Arizona.The allegations were first reported to the principal Wednesday night, by the parent of the victim, who found text message conversations between 27-year-old Brittany Zamora and her 13-year-old male student.The conversation indicated there were sexual activities happening between the two, on and and off campus. According to police records, the teen's parents were alerted to the explicit messages by a parental app.After initially reporting the relationship to the Las Brisas principal, the 13-year-old's father also contacted Buckeye police.In a report made to police, the victim's father said he received a phone call from Zamora and her husband, who were allegedly "pleading with him not to contact the police." During the call, Zamora's husband reportedly asked to "meet up" and "settle this." 921

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman was arrested for child abuse on Sunday after deputies say she placed a 3-year-old girl unbuckled in the front seat of her vehicle and slammed on the brakes, sending the child into the windshield. Officials say that Justine Olesky, 33, was in a physical altercation with her boyfriend while the child was standing next to her. Once the boyfriend left, Olesky picked up the child and placed her in the front passenger seat without a seatbelt or car seat, according to the arrest affidavit.Pinellas County deputies say that the child is 3-years-old and weighs approximately 35 pounds.Deputies say that Olesky then proceeded after her boyfriend and accelerated to high speeds in a residential neighborhood. A witness saw the child in the front seat of the vehicle when they say Olesky was driving roughly 90 mph through the neighborhood. Once she saw her boyfriend, deputies say she slammed on her brakes causing the child to be ejected forward. This caused the child's head to strike the windshield at such a high force it shattered the windshield roughly 20 inches in diameter.Deputies say that blonde strands of hair were left in the glass from the child. According to the arrest affidavit, Olesky did not appear to be concerned for the child and continued to talk about her boyfriend even when deputies brought up the child's safety. Olesky was arrested for child abuse and domestic battery.Post Miranda, deputies say that Olesky told law enforcement that she does not remember and denies the incident. She did say that the window was not shattered prior to the incident, according to the arrest affidavit.The child was transported to the hospital. OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A United States Postal Service worker discovered a massive snake Friday while delivering the mail in Overland Park, Kansas.It's unclear when the red tail boa constrictor slithered onto the home in the Pinehurst neighborhood."The biggest snake I've ever seen! Police say a man in Australia fought off a deadly snake that was in his vehicle while he drove on a highway.In a press release, police in Queensland, Australia said a 27-year-old Gladstone man identified as "Jimmy" was driving down Dawson Highway back in June at 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour when he noticed a highly venomous eastern brown snake, which is one of the world's deadliest snakes, near his legs.The incident happened near the town of Calliope.“I’m driving along at 100, and I just started to brake,” Jimmy said in the news release. “…And the more I moved my legs… it just started to wrap around me. Its head just started striking at the (driver’s seat) chair, between my legs.”Jimmy said in the news release that he fought the snake off with his seatbelt and a knife while attempting to stop his car.Police were able to capture the moment on body cameras, which they posted to their Facebook page. 923

(KGTV) — An unusual fossil deposit was discovered during construction at the State Route 11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project, yielding remains that may be up to 28 million years old.The state Department of Transportation says skeletal remains of extinct mammals — including camels, oreodonts, rodents, and possibly a large carnivore — were discovered at the site of the SR-11 and Otay Mesa East Port of Entry project.The fossils are estimated to be somewhere between 16 to 28 million years old, or Earth's Tertiary Period, and could provide more insight into our area's history.Paleo Monitors from the San Diego Natural History Museum found the remains in what appears to be a new geologic formation that has yet to be mapped in the region. The area also contains plant fossils and volcanic bombs (or pieces of rock ejected by a volcano), the DOT says.The Nat will curate and catalog the fossils into its paleontology program.The construction project, which will create a new port of entry into the country, will continue as planned, the state said. 1080
