Montgomery County, Maryland police announced Thursday night that Laura Wallen was shot in the back of the head, according to autopsy findings. Tyler Tessier, Wallen's boyfriend and the father of her unborn child has been charged with her murder. NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro Police have identified the six officers who first responded to the scene of the downtown explosion Christmas morning. City officials say these officers showed up to a "shots fired" call on 2nd Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, an RV on the street played a recording and countdown, saying the vehicle contained a bomb and warning everyone to leave the area. The officers helped several people evacuate before the RV exploded shortly after, around 6:30 a.m."They immediately began knocking on doors, not knowing when the bomb would go off," Chief John Drake said at a press conference Saturday night. "They didn't think of themselves...they thought of the citizens of Nashville. They saved lives today, and their heroism should be noted." NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police has released body camera video from Officer Michael Sipos, one of the six officers who helped evacuate families ahead of the Christmas morning bombing.Sipos was issued a body camera just days before the explosion.The video shows actions both before and after the blast. The explosion happens around the 3:51 mark in the video below.Officer Sipos said in a press conference on Sunday that when they arrived, they didn't really notice the RV, and parked just across from it. That was before the RV began broadcasting a message that it contained a bomb and for people to evacuate the area.You can see the RV in the video around the 1:57 mark, and hear the RV's broadcast through much of the first few minutes of the video provided by Metro police.Sipos and his fellow officers began to work at knocking on doors, evacuating families ahead of the blast. Sipos says they got in contact with about six or seven families.Sipos returned to his patrol car and was getting equipment out of the trunk when it exploded.Much of the video shows Sipos and other MNPD officers returning to Second Avenue N. heavily damaged and on fire. More than 1,000 aftershocks of magnitude 1.5 or greater have shaken Alaska since Friday's big quake knocked out power, ripped open roads and splintered buildings in Anchorage, US Geological Survey geophysicist Randy Baldwin said Sunday.The majority were of a magnitude of 2.5 or weaker, meaning they weren't likely felt. But more than 350 of the aftershocks were higher than 2.5, according to USGS data.Still, local officials said life was returning to normal after Friday's magnitude 7 earthquake, even as 4 to 8 inches of snow was expected Sunday."This is the second-largest earthquake we've had since 1964, which was a very significant earthquake," Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz told reporters Saturday, referring to the 9.2 quake that was the most powerful recorded in US history. "In terms of a disaster, I think it says more about who we are than what we suffered," Berkowitz said. NASA could make history on Tuesday as their spacecraft, OSIRIS-REx, will attempt to land on an ancient asteroid 200 million miles away from Earth.OSIRIS-REx launched in 2016. It arrived at the asteroid, named Bennu, in 2018 and it’s been mapping out the surface working to pick the best location to land ever since.The mission’s operations are headquartered at the University of Arizona.The mission will begin at 2:50 p.m. Arizona time on Tuesday. At 3:12 p.m., OSIRIS-REx will finally touch down on Bennu and collect a sample before heading back to Earth. Dr. Lori Glaze with NASA tells ABC15 the sample will allow researchers to study the ancient secrets of our solar system. She says Bennu also has a 1-in-2,700 chance of impacting Earth in about 150 years or so, so this mission can help researchers work to prevent that.“Helping us refine and reduce the uncertainties on Bennu’s orbit so we can better predict more precisely not only when it might intercept with Earth, but what the probability of that intersection is,” Dr. Glaze said. “So the mission's been critically important for refining Bennu’s orbit so we can help protect ourselves in the future.”Watch a live stream of the event in the player below. 1222
