Andy Parker, whose daughter Alison was killed on live television during a news report two years ago, said Thursday he was considering running for the seat of retiring Virginia Rep. Bob Goodlatte.Parker has been an outspoken critic of Goodlatte, the powerful chairman of the House judiciary committee, for his longstanding ties with the National Rifle Association. Parker's daughter lived in Goodlatte's district, and the father has pushed for gun control ever since she was killed.Parker said he's been talking with his family about the possibility of running for the seat as a Democrat. Parker lives outside the district, and if he were to run and win, his family would have to move."I've got some time to ponder it," Parker said.Parker said he was at the dentist's office Thursday morning when his daughter's boyfriend, Chris Hurst, texted him with the news about Goodlatte's retirement. An intoxicated Mansfield woman was arrested on Saturday after making lewd comments to the Easter Bunny.Ladonna Hughett, 54, was arrested at Richland Carrousel Park in Mansfield, Ohio.Witnesses told police the woman made several lewd comments while taking a photograph with the Easter Bunny and appeared to be intoxicated. Afterward, Hughett went for a ride on the carrousel.Police said Hughett appeared to be under the influence when they arrived. She was charged with drunkenness and taken to Richland County Jail. An online petition is calling on President Trump or Congress to close down Fort Hood.The petition on change.org says the military post should be shut down due to its handling of the case of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen.The 20-year-old soldier disappeared from post on April 22. Human remains believed to belong to her were found Tuesday in an area near the Leon River in Little River Academy.Before her disappearance, Pfc. Guillen told friends and family she was being sexually harassed by her superior. An investigation has been started into those allegations.One suspect in her disappearance died by suicide as officers attempted to make contact. Another suspect, a civilian and estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier, has been arrested and is currently in the Bell County jail.The petition says Fort Hood failed her and "let her die when they claim, 'No soldier left behind.'"As of publication, the petition has 260,000 signatures.
