SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Threats from President Donald Trump to move forward with ICE raids aren't stopping a Barrio Logan organization from patrolling the streets and alerting the community when agents are in their neighborhoods. Union Del Barrio is a 38-year-old organization. In the last year, they started the community patrols to warn neighbors of their rights, if ICE shows up at their door. Benjamin Prado is a member of Union Del Barrio. He says volunteers patrol in Logan Heights, Barrio Logan, Shelltown, City Heights and Linda Vista. Prado says they never interfere with the ICE agents doing their job, only document what they see. The organization is also training volunteers in other cities, including Los Angeles. Prado says they feel ICE shouldn't exist at all and that these patrols are to challenge the administration, trying to stop them from terrorizing and separating their families with deportations. On Saturday, Trump said the administration would move forward with ICE raids "fairly soon". Late Sunday afternoon, the president also tweeted in response to a New York Times article saying in part "people should not be entering the country illegally" while also praising the work of Border Patrol and others in law enforcement. Trump also insisted the wall is being built. So far, no word from the administration as to when the deportations will start. 1378

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The trial for a former San Diego County sheriff's deputy accused of sexual misconduct while wearing his uniform began Monday in Vista.More than a dozen women claim Deputy Richard Fischer made unwanted advances."I think he's a bad guy," a San Marcos woman, who filed ,000,000 claim against the County, said.She said in August of 2017 two sheriff's deputies knocked on her door in the middle of the night for a welfare check. There was no problem and they left but she said Fischer returned alone an hour later, saying he needed to use her restroom; then told her she was cute and hugged her, several times."I was stunned shocked, it was very fast and confusing...I felt very vulnerable, intimidated, felt weak. I felt little." She said, next to tears. "It's just a mess! Everything is a mess! This is hard to do. He shouldn't have come back to my house and I don't ... Everything's a mess!"Similar instances were described by other women. In October of 2017, near the entryway of a 64-year-old woman's condo, Fischer took her report for a domestic violence incident and then made his move."His hands went all the way down to her butt and he squeezed both of her buttocks... he took her hand and pulled it down to his groin area," Lawyer Dan Gilleon said. He represents several women who filed claims against Fischer.Gilleon made a theme apparent, "he knows that she's alone, and she's vulnerable, and she's scared." Another victim called him a predator.Some women who came forward claim Fischer became more brazen, forcing sexual acts.Wednesday a plea deal fell through. The deal would mean Fischer would plead guilty to four felony charges -- down from more than 12 felonies -- and serve no more than five years in prison.10News learned that Fischer would also have to register as a sex offender for life under the plea deal.Fischer faces more than 25 years in prison if convicted of all charges. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Symphony has overcome the last major obstacle to a permanent home along San Diego's waterfront.The Port of San Diego's Board of Commissioners has granted a 15-year lease for the Symphony's Bayside Performance Park project. The project will see the construction of a seashell-shaped concert venue at Embarcadero Marina Park South, as well as various improvements to the surrounding park.The lease also includes four options allowing the Symphony to extend their lease up to 50 years.The San Diego Symphony will invest a minimum of million toward those improvements, including 66 new restrooms, expansion of the current promenade, and improvements to the park's existing basketball courts and exercise equipment.RELATED: Margaritaville Island Resort coming to San Diego“We’re confident concert-goers will love the improved access and state-of-the art stage and sound system, and bayfront visitors will love the new and improved park,” said Board Chairman Garry Bonelli.The Symphony could begin construction of the venue as soon as September. Since 2004, the Symphony has had to assemble and disassemble its temporary venue for its Bayside Summer Nights concert series. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Rock Church is making holiday giving even easier, teaming up with Express Feedback for Good to raise money for their Toys for Joy campaign.Under the new program, people can sign up to take on-line surveys. For each one they take, the Church will get towards their holiday fundraiser."This is a life or death situation for some kids and some families," says Pastor Miles McPherson.The Toys for Joy program is now in its 23rd year. Each year the Church helps around 20,000 families with food, clothing, toys, and more for the holidays. McPherson says he hopes the new survey tool will inspire people to do more."The express feedback tool gives people the opportunity to do something to help somebody, but we want them to take the next step, touch a person, smile at a person, hear someone's story," he says.The surveys only take about one minute each, and there's a limit of 100 per person. The Church says they hope to raise 0,000 from the surveys, to help supplement the other donations they get each year.The company, Express Feedback for Good, takes the information from the survey and sells it to businesses to help them serve their customers better."It's a win/win for both parties," says Product Manager Dena Coykendall. "The non-profit can create resources, and business can collect information from a crowd that's more representative."This year, the Rock Church will have four locations for their Toys for Joy campaign on December 14th.
